No fines, nothing else, because Josh Weiss is very good at what he does! He is obviously well liked and has good rapport within the legal system of professionals. Whatever he said to the prosecutor and judge worked. He was honest with me from the beginning and didn't sugar coat anything. He told me what I could possibly expect/what might happen. He also didn't try to scare me into hiring him like a few other attorneys that I interviewed. Josh took the time during our initial consultation to actually listen to me and THAT was what sold me into hiring him. It wasn't the same attention I got from his competition. In addition Rachel, his assistant is the sweetest person and extremely knowledgeable. She will put you at ease with the way she talks. She is the one I talked to every time I had a question. I didn't need to talk to Josh bc she was able to help me every single time. She knows the legal system, she knew of my Judge. I only spoke with Josh initially for a consultation and then a few days before court bc I requested it, otherwise I had Rachel who provided same day responses. Josh worked with me on payment. They use an app which keeps all communications, dates and payment history etc in your account so you have it all anytime - Love it, so easy and convenient! Throughout the process, my family and I felt dismissed rather than treated with the respect and courtesy that clients deserve. At the firm's request, we obtained a competency evaluation from my mother's physician. I was present during the evaluation, and the physician determined that she was competent and provided the requested letter. I promptly mailed the letter to the law firm. After two weeks without any communication, I called to follow up and was told they had never received it. After I sent it again, the office quickly located the document. This lack of organization caused unnecessary delays and frustration. If I could give them - 10 stars I damn sure would. When we arrived to execute the trust documents, my mother was taken into a private room and questioned for nearly an hour. While I understand an attorney has an obligation to ensure a client understands and is acting voluntarily, the length and nature of the questioning felt excessive, particularly given that they had already requested and received a physician's written opinion regarding her competency. The experience was upsetting for both my mother and our family. After paying $1,700 for legal services, we expected clear communication, professionalism, and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those expectations. Although the fee was ultimately refunded, it did not change the frustration and disappointment we experienced throughout the process. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this law firm. In 2020 I retained the firm again for a criminal case in Walker County GA. Bryan Hoss was my attorney. I experienced the most disgusting, pompous, and disappointing outcome possible. We shook on a representation agreement in July 2020 and over the next two years he failed to contact the DA for a resolution to a weak and simple case. The firm failed to follow through after a bench warrant was issued due to an address/paperwork issue. I was arrested and left incarcerated while they sorted out a simple document that wasn't finalized. I had multiple phone calls with Bryan while in jail during which he treated me as subhuman while informing me I would have to settle my case with a plea deal because I was a bad person due to a prior criminal record. The firm then proceeded to demand more money for a trial and plea negotiations. They petitioned the court with a motion to withdraw as counsel and left me hanging years into a charge. I was forced to pay another firm to represent me. The new attorney made one phone call and one court appearance and the charges were dismissed due to zero evidence. The firm of Davis & Hoss has no interest in representing average, hard working clients. Especially those that require pesky after hours work or phone calls. Bryan Hoss is a pompous, elite minded attorney that has no business practicing law.
