Never found this place, would be nice to try an oatcake that used Hovis instead of the usual Asian cheap brown

This was open on Sunday contrary to the listing. The inventory on Sunday afternoon was low. But…read morethe Earl Grey was good. The custard tarts were delicious with a light flaky crust. I'm not sure why they have waffle cones in the window but don't appear to sell ice cream. (Apparently they do have ice cream. I just didn't see it on the menu.)

There is plenty of staff wandering around and in fairness dressed quite smart in ties and waistcoats, i'm not sure if we were supposed to be seated by them but we just marched in a picked a place. I ordered the poached eggs on wholegrain toast (there didn't seem to be a choice of white) and a flat white; of course. My partner in dining ordered a croissant filled with gruyere cheese and button mushrooms and a béchamel sauce and a pot of tea. The drinks came almost instantly, it was a pretty good flat white and i liked the cup and saucer it came in; don't judge me I find it important how things are presented. The tea came on its own tray/chopping board that seemed to take up half of the table which proved a bit of an issue when the food arrived not 5 minutes later. No sudden movements please, nearly sent a piece of toast careening off to the next table. My poached eggs were cooked well, suspiciously perfectly formed and dome like as if created by some dark magic but runny inside so I was happy, and the toast was well - like toast I added my own butter. The croissant came with a side salad and was a decent sized portion, however the béchamel sauce made the pastry go stodgy, the sauce itself tasted a bit floury. Unlike other cheese and mushroom croissants this wasn't toasted it was a croissant that had be cut in half; had whole (not sliced) button mushrooms and cheese but inside then slathered in the sauce. Hate to say it but the Starbucks version is tastier and cheaper. With that all said and done, I would go back for coffees and breakfast. It's a nice alternative to the likes of Costa and Starbucks (we doth not mention Nero) and you can almost always get a seat.

Patisserie Valerie - Tea 'board'. Loose leaf tea takes a bit longer to brew.

When you enter, you'll probably struggle to find seating as this local Cafe has become the hang out place for Mum'n'Kids, Pensioners and the odd student who likes a good coffee. I absolutely ADORE Mama Bears Cakes & Bakes!!! I live in the US, and my boyfriend lives in the UK,…read moreand I wanted to send him something super special for our anniversary. After searching endlessly and fruitlessly for weeks online for someone who could make exactly what I wanted, accept payment internationally, and deliver it to my BF, I messaged Mama Bear's, and the owner is an absolute ANGEL. She worked with me to decide on exactly what to create. Even though the things I asked for aren't typically items that she makes, she told me that she was a "romantic" and would be happy to make a special order for me. She even ended up adding decorations on her own because she wanted to make it extra special! Such a lovely person to work with!!! Her husband hand-delivered the cake & chocolate-covered strawberries to my boyfriend on our anniversary and even passed along a special message. My boyfriend was totally surprised and absolutely impressed with the presentation of the gift itself. He also said that the cake and strawberries were incredibly DELICIOUS!!! He really tried to ration them out to last longer, but they were so good he couldn't help eating them within about a week and a half haha. Mama Bear is the greatest, and if you live in the area, you should DEFINITELY choose her shop! I'd be there for coffee and baked goods daily if I didn't live across the pond! haha.

Service: We arrived first, placed our order, and while we waited several others placed orders. The pastries and little parcels of delightful decadence gracing the bakery cases in Druckers can never be denied, so DONOTIREAPEATDONOT, go into Druckers if you're on a diet. How in the WORLD can you deny the yummy yummy soft goodness that is melt-in-your-mouth pastry and a thousand calories in every bite? You can't, so don't try to deny it. Druckers is on the expensive side, but that's because it's a posh little cafe. There are never squalling children in here, because parents don't usually want to buy their child a £5 chocolate mousse whilst on their way to The Entertainer. It's just quiet, couth adults reading or having a quiet chat over their delicious Viennese treats. Druckers also do very nice sandwiches, toasted or non, and some nice savoury salads and a few other sides. Their coffee and selection of teas are broad and all very tasty. The service is nice and polite without being cloying. It really is a nice quiet atmosphere in which to get away from the hoi polloi whilst at The Bullring.
