Through their commitment, vision and dedication for the FAA community, our son was able to matriculate into the french educational system with ease. For that ,my husband and I are extremely grateful. I had many fairs. How well our son would do with moving to a new country , entering a new school system without knowing anyone. That tension was put to rest with how well our son has been doing. The staff is so accommodating; they have answered all of our questions right away and send frequent updates throughout the day about your child. It is awesome to watch all of the activities and lessons the kids engage on throughout the day. With the pandemic, the school has been extremely cautious and following all of the state guidelines and hygiene protocols. My husband and I feel completely comfortable sending our son knowing the school is as prepared as they are. Since starting at Appletree, our son has become more social with other children, has displayed more patience, and his vocabulary has increased. I would give the testers and the school a 10/10!

The area around the field is mostly residential, and the parking lots on school grounds are small so they fill up quickly. The field does not have lighting so all games are played during daylight hours, but on the bright side, their scoreboard is very nice state-of-the-art technology. No instant replay though, which is not unusual for high school sports. Concessions are reasonably priced and service is fast - a well oiled machine. I ordered a meatball sub, a hot dog and a bag of chips for $12 - easy on the pockets - and the sandwich was delicious and cheesy.

There was a simple miscommunication when it came to his diapers (super minor) and the teacher rectified it right away and contacted me to clarify/discuss. The teacher and/or school are always reaching out, even for something simple, to keep me and my husband apprised and informed. We appreciate this so much and truly find it to be a reflection of those they hire to nurture and educate the children. We find their COVID protocols very well followed, and we're not nervous sending our son here a few days a week. The staff, teachers and administration always greet us at pick up/drop off and make us feel like our sons going to a special place and loved. In reference to the other comment on curriculum, they're under 2 years. They are just getting acclimated to going to school, let alone the ability to do a true art masterpiece. I think that's a bit unrealistic when it comes to an expectation of artistic ability at that age. Our son has come home with some really great art projects and we're really happy with his progress being he's not even 18 months old. He's learning so much already and we're grateful. Overall, we're very happy with Ridgewood Montessori and will continue to send our son for years to come (as long as everything stays as great as it's been!). In addition, once our daughter is age appropriate we would love to continue the legacy with her attendance as well. From the incredible teacher to student ratio, personal education plan for each child, and all students in the elementary school even learn a real instrument (mine is learning guitar) ... the list goes on and on. I have even been impressed by the amazing handling of the past 2 years of Covid protocol.... All impressive!! I personally feel that these children have had the most "normal" school experience possible during the past two years giving them support and consistency that children need. Teachers are very responsive to emails and always make themselves available both before and after school for any concerns both in person and via zoom. Administration knows all the children by name and engages with them regularly. We came from another private school where our experience was disheartening and are so happy to have found our Ridgewood Montessori School Family!

Our family was very disappointed with our experience at CAP. My child attended for just 5 months…read moreand during that time we discovered many issues with the school. 1. My child had a medical emergency while at the school and it was unclear how it was actually handled. We received different accounts from the director, area manager, the staff member who accompanied my child to the hospital, and the EMT's who responded to the event. When I asked to see the footage from the time period of the medical emergency I was denied the request. 2. Classes are often combined in the morning or after 4pm, even during disease outbreaks in those respective rooms. Many times I would pick up my child and my child would be in the room where there is a known presence of Croup or Hand Foot Mouth playing with the children from that room. This, to me, demonstrated a lack of genuine care for the well being of the children. 4. My child's teacher recorded and posted a video on the app of another child pushing and kicking my child. My child was kicked 4 or more times and there was no intervention by the teacher. When I addressed this with the director I was simply told this was normal behavior for the age group and if the teacher had deemed to to be excessive she would have addressed it. 5.While regular handwashing is talked about quite a bit during the tour, it was not happening. Many times I picked up my child either right after playtime/before a snack or meal time or during a diaper change and the children were never made to wash their hands. I addressed this observation once with the director and noticed no improvements. 6. My child came home twice with scratches on her body that the staff could never explain. One scratch spanned across her back. 7. My child came home many times with diaper rash, despite us providing 40% zinc oxide diaper cream. On one occasion, I picked my child up and was told that all 3 of the kids left in the room had diaper rash. I don't think it is a coincidence that the last 3 kids left in the room that day all had diaper rash.

They do practice Montessori in the classrooms and encourage independence and practical life skills on top of academics. Also love the fact that food is provided, the staff are great, and they have an app where they send regular updates and pictures and communicate with parents. They recently moved to a new building so everything is nice and shiny. Other sites seem to have more reviews than Yelp, but I'd recommend doing more research on the school as an option, we couldn't be happier.
