Just a short distance you'll find the bordering town of Milltown, which provides the warm inviting persona that is all, but long gone from yesteryear. A quaint main street with shops to walk about including some good eateries. Like Cheers and town where everybody knows your name. A place to bump elbows with neighbors and friends. A relaxed pace that is much needed in this day and age, although you better adhere to the speed limit because you will get pulled over and don't even think about drinking and driving ( which no one should practice especially with the advent of Uber). An amazing 4th of July parade where the streets are packed with eager children awaiting the endless candy that gets thrown from each float. Milltown day is yet another pleasant gathering where Free soda form one of those big tap trucks serving up classics like frosty birch beer all day long. Free hot dogs to be devoured, I typically put away 4 or 5, shhh. So when you need a break from bustle take an hour or so to visit one of the few local communities that embrace the true meaning of home town.

If you're looking for more fine dining there is a nice seafood place called Frescos up on Ryder's lane. The Milltown diner on main street is a deal and a half when it comes to breakfast and lunch. Try your luck fishing in the pond! It's right in the center of the town by the Hess station. At the corner of one of the towns very few traffic lights. Been fishing there since I was a kid. Caught some big bass and pickerel in there. Even if the fish aren't biting, it's a nice place to grab an ice cream cone from the ice cream depot up the street and relax. Best place on the planet to celebrate the Fourth of July. They start the day with a fishing derby! Always fun fishing on the little mill pond. Catch some largemouth bass and some trout and then it's on to the 5k run! Race with all your buddies all over the town. It's a pretty hilly run, but it's well worth it when you come through the finish line and are met by 100's of cheering spectators. The parade starts normally around 10am and is filled with marching bands, fire trucks, dance teams, and even some rock bands on floats! Next, everyone files down to the towns borough park where there are rides for the kids, live entertainment, lots of vendors, and free hotdogs and soda! The large "MILLTOWN" sign up on the hill just can't be beat. This is a town with pride! At night, there are live bands down at the park and they have a firework display that often puts others to shame. Lookin for an all American small town feel? Take a trip to Milltown.
