This company used houses with siding as a comparison to my friend's all stone and brick home. The appraisal came back at half the price of what Zillow and other area realtors have said the house and land are worth. The owner of this company "Donna" took less than 10 minutes to view and appraise my friends 6,000 sq.ft. house. Donna didn't ask about any of the fine details, such as the radiant heat or central boiler that heats the house, garage and barn. For my friend's second property, the owner of this company said "the house is beyond it's years of capacity." Even though, the house has new siding, new roof, new doors and window, as well as new guttering and down spouts, all new in the last 10 years. This company is a joke and should be brought up on charges for not employing "recognized methods or techniques" and do not follow the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), they are in violation of USPAP. They should at least have their license pulled. It sounds like they were paid off by a land developer. read more
