Compared to what most people probably come here for, my need was pretty small: three pieces of plywood each ranging from 4 to 6'. I dragged in an existing piece so I could explain what I was trying to do, and Bryan (almost positive that was his name) took me out back to suggest a few things. Because my toolbox at home is limited to a few screwdrivers, hammer and small hand saw he cut the three boards for me and they were the perfect sizes. I'm fascinated by places that are full of things I don't know anything about, so while he did the cutting I checked out all of the various types/sizes of wood and enjoyed how nice the place smelled. The selection & value can't be topped, especially if you need cuts made. It's a service that should not be overlooked. The folks in that cutting room are talented, and have gotten me out of a jamb or two. It's also my first stop for hard and soft wood, having purchased Ash, Sapele, and Maple for several projects over the years. I'm not a cabinet maker or a finish carpenter, nor do I pretend to be, but they'll treat you great, and give you advice just the same over there. You only need to visit once to understand that it's the people that work there that bring you back, not just the wood. And like the person who told me, I get a little smile across my face when I tell someone else about them for the first time.

Is she the best! I cannot say enough good things about her. At one point, I was having a crisis about the main countertops and even though she wasn't involved with the planning of those she stepped into try to help me problem solve. I wish I had known that she also worked as a kitchen designer and could do cabinets as well as I definitely would have rather had her as my cabinet person. She is level-headed, reassuring, and definitely helped calm me in one of the many speedbumps I hit along the way. She's a gem. And the owner and fabricator were also wonderful when it came to letting us do template placement, fabricating, and installed the stone. Within a few months of installation a seam separated and they did come to repair free of charge but after a few years a second seam separated. What a surprise! I offered to pay for them to come back and repair. They would not acknowledge my calls or pictures I sent them. Totally would not address the problem. I was referred to AGF Marble and Granite and they could not be more helpful and gracious. They sent someone right away and fixed the seam which was not easy because it wasn't very tight. Also they suspected not enough glue was used during original installation. Next project I know where I'm going.

Everything seemed fine until about two years ago when we discovered hairline cracks developing at the front of the sink. At first I thought it's stone after all and may have had some weakness at that point but it continued to enlarge to the point where I began filling the voids with a two part epoxy to keep water out. It continued to enlarge to the point where I felt like I should contact this business to see if they had any advise for me or could offer an explanation or remedy. I called and spoke to Majid and asked if he would send a technician to the house to check it out. He immediately got defensive with me and stated that there is no guaranty, spoke of 'normal wear', the possible consequence of hard usage, how I wouldn't expect a car to last 12 years etc, etc. He also stated that it's not that unusual as he had just recently had another individual in his store with a similar problem. Note that I at no point stated that I had purchased from him and that his people had done the installation or that improper installation is one of the main reasons sited for this type of issue. In any case, we agreed that I would send him photos and fully expected some type of response. That response never came and after a week of stewing about it, I decided for the first time in my life to write a review and post it on Yelp. If you're considering making a significant purchase like this, just be aware that problems can and do occur with stone and that you can expect zero support from this business if seeking remedy.
