It reads: "William Camp Gildersleeve (1795-1871). Prominent merchant and ardent abolitionist significant to the Underground Railroad in Wilkes-Barre. He provided refuge to fugitive slaves at his home and business near here. In 1853, Gildersleeve testified in a US Supreme Court Case, Maxwell vs Righter, in which a fugitive, William Thomas, was shot and wounded by U.S. marshals. The case and his testimony received national attention, especially in African American newspapers." Gildersleeve Street is the one-way street to the right of the fire department.

If you go to King's, choose a major in computer science, nursing, or physician's assistant. Otherwise, you may end up like me. King's admission rate is 77%, and the national average is 65%. According to PrepScholar, "[w]ith a GPA of 3.38, King's College accepts below-average students." I found that to be the case, as most students seemed not to care about the classes or much else for that matter. The career planning office is a joke. They had interviews for used car sales jobs. Need I say more? If you don't major in something that is medically or computer science related, your degree will likely be worth nothing from here. I was doing well in life until I got the King's. I was a loyal student and supported my school. They didn't support me. They ruined my life by giving me a costly degree that had and has no value.

Unlike other locations, it doubles as a college bookstore for Wilkes University and King's College. I'm disappointed by the lack of a film or music section as other Barnes & Noble locations are a great place to find art house DVDs and Blu-rays. This location does host many events, including open-mics and poetry readings. They also stock a number of books by local authors and take an involved role in the community art scene.
