Moving onto my regular review - This is not only one of the poorer Natwest stores I have visited out of the three I've visited in Manchester city centre, but I'd even go as far as to say this is the worst branch I have visited since I joined them as a customer which includes branches in Manchester City Centre, Manchester Spinningfields, Oldham and Middleton, and I could perhaps be missing other branches out too. The branch just seemed old fashioned and dark, it had virtually no tech such as machines to pay in money, which all other Natwest branches I have visited so far so, which certainly isn't good enough for a location in Manchester city centre, spite the fact it isn't their main city centre branch and is neither the largest or in the most central location, yet I still expect better. The staff just seemed rude, the card reader where you put in your chip and pin seemed old fashioned, and when I tried to stretch it out to reach, the member of staff was constantly aggressive, telling me to put it back. She also seemed rude when my card wouldn't go through, asking me to wipe it and that originally failed, she seemed rather impatient, rude and it felt like she wanted to be anywhere but working, I felt as welcomed as a Manchester City or United fan would be in Liverpool (Although to be fair when I went to Liverpool away at Anfield, all the stewards were really friendly!) Ever since I joined Natwest, I've been quite impressed with their stores, finding them to be in good locations. good number and quite good in terms of technology, the service has been okay, sadly this branch does not meet any of my expectations and falls short of the Natwest brand, which shows so much must have changed for the worse, since this place was last reviewed and given 5 stars by two reviewers, nearly 8 years ago.

They were great whilst I was a student and I have now secured a mortgage through them. I cannot recommend them to you enough. If you're not with Natwest and your thinking of changing banks do it! Natwest in Middleton is fine as a bank unless you have to into the branch! There is nearly always a…read morebig queue with people paying bills, counting out copper jars etc. They give you the option to pay money into the little box on the wall but after the stories that you hear about stuff getting lost i'd rather wait in the queue. Disadvantage to this is that the cashier will then try to get you to upgrade your account when you finally get to the window! There is no parking outside the bank unless you have a disabled badge and the traffic wardens are always about so it's not worth the risk! So as a bank they are fine if you don't have to visit them!

There are cash machines both inside and outside of the branch. Also, inside there is the usual set of cashier windows along with a section to the side where you can go and speak to an advisor. One of the newer features of this branch is that they have a desk in the open foyer area of the ank where you can just walk up and ask simple questions about anything barclays related. I have used this many times when I have had a query with my account. Another good addition to the branch is that they have introduced a few new machine that allow you to enter your bank card and view your account information such as statements within the branch itself. Sometimes though, these machines can be out of order which can be quite frustrating if you are going into the branch with the specific intention of using one of them.

A lack of staff, ATM's and banking machines and a pretty old-fashioned feel of the store which is pretty small do counter into that, while also including the horrible opening hours where they not only open slightly later than average at 9:30 but they also close at 5 which is again slightly earlier than other banks, which is again frustrating to considering it isn't open on weekends. Not only was the store understaffed with little room for more staff at the counter, but service also seemed to move really slow and unlike other stores, there wasn't a separate and quicker queue to get pointed in the right direction perhaps with just a simple issue or query. 1*

One of three branches in the city centre, this is probably my favourite out of the three (Given the…read morequality of Barclays' branches overall that doesn't say much). The location on Mosley Street is in between Piccadilly Gardens and St Peter's Square. The bank is open between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm weekdays, opening half an hour later on Wednesday's. I do find it frustrating that they close their counter service an hour early, and do not open at all on weekends, as the opening hours generally see them close earlier than most banks around the city centre anyway. Despite claiming to have indoor ATM's online, they do NOT. They do have some banking machines in branch, where you can withdraw cash, but these are different machines to ATM's, as a friendly employee explained to me. As someone who hates using outdoor ATM's, this is a deal-breaker for me. 3* - Basic bank, reasonable location yet still leaving me regretful of joining Barclays in the first place.

The building it is located in is a huge, highly impressive building and as you walk in, due to the large and impressive nature of the building, it certainly doesn't feel like a bank. There was a decent amount of staffed tills and self service machines to withdraw and pay-in money, there could have been more however due to the size of the branch. The branch of course follows the traditional Natwest layout, with free wifi inside the store (Most banks and all Natwest stores have this now) and albeit no one welcomed me in, the staff member seemed friendly and efficent to come to my aid when having an issue paying money into my account. The impressive nature of the building makes that banking experience nicer, and this is one of my favourite Natwest branches and despite some flaws mentionef, I feel this branch deserves a mid to high three-star rating.

TSB's modern branch on Manchester's Market Street is one of the only reasons I still bank with TSB,…read morein terms of overall facilities, ease of in-branch experience and service, it is one of the best banks within the city centre which is quite impressive considering it might not be as large or offer anything different such as Virgin Money, Lloyds Bank and Metro Bank nearby. This store seems to do the basics very well rather than introducing other stuff which leads to a lower standard of everything else. The account and product knowledge is also pretty good, and the opening hours of the store are also pretty good, being open on Sunday's and even having the longest opening hours (Until 4 pm) in the city during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, a title shared with Metro Bank. Unlike nearby Natwest, they don't have coin processing facilities unless you complete a paying-in slip which I find a little old fashioned (having to complete and post a paying in envelope) 4*
