The Hualapai Hilltop is where you will begin your hike into the Havasupai Indian Reservation. The hilltop has a parking lot. It also has a helicopter pad for those using that type of transportation into and out of the canyon. Be mindful of the horses and mules that frequent the hilltop carrying bags and other items to and from the village. Before we began our 12 mile hike into the canyon we were checked in at the hut at the hilltop by the locals. They had a list of people that had reservations and permits to enter the canyon. read more
