    VERY hot sauces.

I had the carne asada burrito and my daughter had the fajita tacos. Both were AMAZING. The agua Fresca was also very good. The worst thing was the rat that came through from a hole in the wall from the tire shop. Don't let this sway you. The ladies kept the restaurant very clean.

I absolutely loved this hole in the wall diner for Authentic street tacos. It helps if you speak Spanish here but it's not a necessity. I got 3 tacos.. pollo, barbacoa and al pastor. They were fresh and arrived with onions, cilantro, some radish, and 2 corn tacos each. Also we got a bowl of soup before our meal. This is a very smalldiner and in norhing fancy whatsoever. But we loved the flavors and felt safe despite the burglar bars

Enchiladas verdes with quesadillas and burrito in the background

Omg, *everything* was delicious. Authentic, top tier and affordable. We got Chicken Fajita Quesadilla, Enchiladas Verde with Chicken, and Burrito Al Pastor. Total hole in the wall but among the best Mexican I have eaten. The servers were also very kind and brought us free hot soup as we sat down. Go here! You will not regret it.

The service is always great but I am so confused on why I ordered a breakfast sausage burrito...and instead got a hot dog burrito. This is Terrible!!!

Amazing! Authentic Mexican food. Always fresh. I come here at least once a week and order the Bistec a la Mexicana (pictured here) with delicious flour tortillas. The lemonade is homemade and SO refreshing! I always receive exceptional service, fast food and the workers are very friendly, always smiling. Love this place and will continue to return!

Food/Taste: 5.0 Customer Service: 4.2 Location: 5.0 Pricing: 5.0 Cleanness: 5.0 WiFi: n/a All Food is authentic, homemade, and fresh. The red chilaquiles had a mild spice while the green chilaquiles were spicy. The Breakfast taco of egg and chorizo taste really good. Customer service was slow despite not being packed. Waitress could be a bit more extroverted to make the place a bit more warmly. The location is good. Don't let the outside fool you. From the outside, the place looks sketchy but the inside is extremely clean. The place is a bit small.

    Al pastor taco plate

My husband and I recently moved to this area and decided to try this place. The food was fantastic. I had 3 Al Pastor taco plate. My husband had Lengua, Nopales, Al Pastor, and Carne Asada tacos. My mother in law had salsa verde chicken enchiladas. We all enjoyed our food! We enjoyed some Mexican coke and Jarritos to drink as well. Everyone here spoke Spanish except us, but the wait staff spoke English and did not mind speaking in English to us. We will be bavk

Black coffee is good for the soul

I think this place is underrated. It's a small tiny restaurant/hole in the wall. Only 5 tables inside and two outside. Not good for groups or kids who run around. Only one unisex bathroom for everyone to use. The staff was extremely friendly. A homeless man came in and they gave him free coffee because he couldn't pay. It's a cold day under 40 degrees in Dallas so this was heartwarming to see. I got 4 $2 barbacoa tacos, and black coffee, the green salsa was amazing and the red one was real spicy. But delicious. The black coffee was good, I think it must be a Mexican brand because it doesn't taste like regular Folgers stuff. Reminds me of the hot cocoa drink Mexicans drink -"Chocolate de Abuelita".... All in all, I like this place. Cheap. Reasonable. And st the end of the day you're bringing business to a hard working couple trying to run a little restaurant under 10 tables.

No…read morereservation...just a walk party of 6 and they had a table for us...as long as we could be out by a certain time...about an hour and a half after we walked in. We were there to eat so if they were going to wine and dine us in that amount of time, we were there for it!! Everything was delicious, everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks and we are so glad we found this location and made it happen! I was looking forward to dinner here the entire day and it was worth it!! We had the queso blanco...it's got a kick...worth it! My wagyu fajitas were perfectly cooked medium rare and soooo flavorful!! I was my dessert in my pjs back at the hotel...the sopapilla cheesecake and ice cream held up perfectly and was everything I wanted it to be!! It's a dark atmosphere in the bar area, but the vibes were so cool. It wasn't too loud to where people were having to scream to converse...but it was not intimate where you could talk across the table softly with the other person hearing. We are still talking about Las Palmas days later and can't wait until we are back in Dallas to bring more of our group here to enjoy delicious food and great service!!

A few important notes though: this place is SUPER loud, especially upstairs, so if you are trying to take your older parents somewhere for a nice dinner where you can actually catch up and have a conversation, this might not be the spot. Also, avoid the upstairs dining room if anyone has mobility issues. The stairs are a little sketchy in that dark space because you basically have to TRUST there is another stair step in front of you even though you can't see it. And a heads up, do not wander into the wrong bathroom upstairs like my husband did because the "men's" and "ladies" signs upstairs are also nearly impossible to read in the dark! But honestly, those are really my only complaints... The service and food were both very good. We had a couple of ordering fumbles. We got the regular queso, and then immediately watched another table get the tableside flaming queso and we were seriously bummed. Like, really bummed. That is definitely what I will be ordering next time. The chips and smoky salsa were excellent!! - and I always appreciate when everyone gets their own little portion of salsa so everyone can double dip without feeling like a heathen. I ordered the wagyu fajitas (the half portion), and it was still easily enough food for two people. I will say the meat was more like a filet mignon texture and less like the flavorful fajita meat I was expecting. My friend's pork fajitas were actually much better and had more flavor. When the manager stopped by to check on us, I had to announce my own birthday because apparently my friends were not going to help me out with that (some friends, huh?). They brought out a complimentary sopapilla cheesecake with a candle, which was a very nice touch. All in all, I loved the place and totally understand the hype. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time. There is valet parking, but we found easy parking across the street. I cannot wait to come back and try that flaming queso!

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. It was glorious and bountiful--there was ample dressing, cheese, and other ingredients I'm forgetting that made it unique. Unfortunately, during our second visit, the Caesar salad was significantly different. I think they used the same dressing, but there was very little of it. There was nearly no cheese and the other ingredients were similarly sparse. It was still good, but it in no way was the greatest I'd ever tried. I hope that this was a 1-off experience, as it truly was the best. I will report back next time. Service was great both times- they were very careful about my Cilantro request (none) and even though they gladly prepared dishes without it, they also made a list of things that already had none by default. Salmon ceviche, Pork al pastor, Carne asada, and the machete were also very good. The machete is a specialty- it had the house made masa and fillings can vary.
