I attended two Universities and have friends whoi have een to others about the country and we all agree that this is the best University (the science department anyway). The tutors are atually helpful and have a smile on their faces rather than simply obsessing over theoir own projects. The library is fully stocked and very comfortable and all the tutors will do all they can to help you and guide you but without doing all the work for you. Huddersfield itself has a good night life and good shopping centre aimed at students and the accomodation is clean and new read more

Currently I am studying at the University Business School, it's not a bad place especially after they have invested a lot of money in the development of the campus - the new creative arts building, library refurbishment. The Students Union building is rubbish, but I am not sure if that is the Universities fault, I would rather blame that on miss-management. I really like that the canal cuts the campus in half, so you can sit down and enjoy the nature in the middle of a busy day. It's a big organisation so certain stuff takes time, and from time to time something can get you really annoyed, but all in all I like it. There is a sports centre with a gym on campus. read more

Quite a place for the town to be proud of. Originally the old technical colleage it has undergone a great deal of expansion. The new arts building was recently opened by Patrick Stewart. Plenty of buses serve the university and digs in other areas. They hold some wonderful lecture nights and the public are welcome. With food and wine laid on. A really interesting night out. hope to see it go from strength to strength read more

I have been at this university for half a year now , this is honestly such a great university .I would recommend it to everyone . They give great support and guidance , the professors are very supportive and they know what they are doing .The building it self is very modern and beautiful , it is located in the town centre where there are shops located within the town .Overall this university is amazing and the amount of support shown has been amazing! read more

this university must be one of the friendlest there is. set in the town centre, it is local for all the shops and nightlife. ven patrick stewart teaches three sometimes. the new arts building is quite something, though we science students have got the oldest and coldest building.saying that, the tutors are brilliant and nothing is to much trouble. read more

I did a 4 year course at Huddersfield Uni in IT and German, it involved a sandwhich year which as i was doing a language i had the option to go abroad. It was a fantastic course which was not offered at many universitys. I found the campus to be a nice size - not too large. There were a few didffernt halls locations and i stayed at Ashenhurst which was within walkng distance from the uni. The computer/maths and engineering buildings were quite recently constructed and contained a lot of new equipment. I really enjoyed my time here and found it a friendly place. The course i did consisted of many modules and i fond all of the tutors had plenty of time for their students - i think in larger universities there is a tendancy to be very non-personal, with personal tutors having so many students that they do not take the time to get to know them, this was definately no thte case here, we went out for plenty of social evenings and bonded well with our lecturers. The campus was really quite pretty with a mix of mill stone buildings and other more modern looking architecture. Definately worth condsidering - the reports for Computing and Maths at this university are great - it ranked in the top few universitites when i was there. read more

An upcoming and modern university. One of the best new universities we have seen in a very long time. The university invited EducateFirst to a graduate recruitment day last month. This gave students the opportunity to meet with recruitment staff and discuss their career prospects. A fabulous opportunity for both EducateFirst and students. EducateFirst assisted PGCE graduates in finding suitable teaching posts within its learning centres and provided guidance to tutors looking for an alternative teaching career path. The university offers a vast range of courses that are comparable to some of the top universities in the country. If you are a student looking to enrol on a university course then make sure you consider Huddersfield as one of your top options. 5 stars without a doubt. - The EducateFirst Team read more
