I was so excited to find a bar that was fun and not too crowded on LBI. I have been there twice. My first experience was rought with poor staff attitudes. I returned because everyone has a bad day. My last visit on fourth of July weekend, was awful. I ordered a cranberry n vodka. I received it and the color of the drink insinuated that it was pure cranberry. I tried it and in fact it was. I asked the bartender if he misheard me and he said nope, that's a cranberry n vodka. I had everyone in my party taste it, so it wasn't me. Lol. So then I watched the female bartender FAKE POUR someone else's drink and they ordered patron! I was shocked, I thought I was wrong, but she did it twice. Then I watched the guy bartender do a 1.5 count for someone elses cranberry n vodka. I watched this customer look as confused as I did. She looked up and I held my glass up for a cheers and told her about the fake pours. We left immediately and will never be back. It's a shame because it could be a great bar, but clearly the staff is a problem. read more

The Hud!!! Best local bar ever! Even in the Summer you can always count on the Hud remaining a mostly locals hangout which is wonderful amidst all the other bars which cater more to tourists. When I want to go "home" and see old familiar faces, this is my first stop. :) read more

the bar is great, great beer selection and fun bar games between shuffleboard, darts, and some arcade. would definitely return if in the area again. for the other reviewers, yes the atmosphere speaks dive bar, but at this point, it really isn't. Crowd definitely is a mix of locals and yelpers in here, so really can't call this place a dive since they have more yelpers than locals, great craft beer selection, and expensive drinks. at that point its more of a 'hip' place vs. a run down bar. a dive bar is where they only serve shots and Bud at a few dollars a pop where a non-regular definitely stands out and there should be a slight fear of not making it out of there alive. haha only con, beers are 5 bucks a pop for 10/12 oz glass (can't tell the exact size but its definitely not a pint). its also a pro because it makes it easy to pay read more

Awesome place to go so you can get away from the tourists. They have a pool table, shuffleboard and darts to pass the time.

I came here late August 2016 on a Tuesday night and thought it was just okay. I liked the games they had and all of the old school Budweiser paraphernalia. My boyfriend and I both thought the drinks tasted a little off. He had fat tire which is usually one of his favorite beers and I drank white wine. I could see how this place would be really fun after a few drinks and more of a crowd with a group of friends. I didn't try their food. read more

Opens at noon so you can get your day started right. There is nothing more I like than games and booze, and both are supplied here. The jukebox is solid with CDs from the Beastie Boys, Elton John, the Doors, Ween, and other albums in that realm of the music spectrum. The shuffleboard is clutch. I love dive bars and bar games and this is the epitome of both. Cash only is a bit of a hassle and it is a bit cramped but still my favorite bar on LBI. Closet racist owner. Was there last night. Brought friends. Interracial couple with us (Guyanese/Caucasian). The bar was packed, everyone standing on top of each other. Couples playing darts behind us flirting, sitting in the corner kissing. You know, beach bar on a Saturday night. My girlfriend was on a bar stool and her boyfriend was standing next to her with his hand on her knee. He was rubbing her leg. Next thing you know this sloppy drunk owner starts yelling at them over the bar. It was loud and hard to hear, so we weren't sure what he said. I walked over to the bar and asked him if he was the owner, to which he confirmed he was. I then asked what his problem with my friends was, and he said "we don't allow that here". Now I'm the last person to blame indiscretions on race.....I hate when the "race card" is played. But there were at least a half dozen other couples playing grab ass, smooching and leaning in close to each other. Difference was my friend was the only one with brown skin. Fuck this place. Fuck the owner. This is NOT the beat kept secret in LBI. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never experienced such poor service. Went in with a friend for his 30th birthday. There was at most 8 people in the bar (it seemed like they were mostly locals). The bartenders were rude, not welcoming at all and completely negligent to our needs. They never wished my friend happy birthday (even after we mentioned it) and ignored our group completely. Probably the worst was waiting 25 minutes to be offered a refill on my drink. As an experienced bartender and server I will never frequent this bar on my many trips to lbi read more

Actually, zero stars. Refused entry for unsubstantiated reasons. Bouncers are a bunch of dicks. This is my first Yelp review.

My friends and I tried to go here after a long day one Saturday.. June 3, 2017 around 10 at night to be exact. However we were unable to experience it because of the extremely aggressive bouncer who thought our IDs were fake. We have never had problems getting into any bars on this island, given the fact that we are well over the age limit. He was extremely rude, almost broke my friends ID in half and then asked for a second form of ID, which is unnecessary in my opinion. As we biked away from the establishment he then felt the need to make unnecessary and unprofessional comments towards us. Safe to say I will never go back there again. We took the shuttle bus to Nardis instead and had the time of our lives, so in actuality thanks rude bouncer!! read more

You're not really a part of LBI unless you come to Hudson House. This place is the epitome of the classic dive beach bar. It's a local favorite and the bartenders are great. The music could be louder and clearer but they have a great shuffle board, darts, pinball, pool table and bunch of people having a great time. read more

As a former bouncer at a point in time when there were bouncers the Hud is a hoot with its' "it's 1230 do you know where you are t shirts from the 70s it is quintessential LBI. I have fond memories of Ross asking Richie for the beer he stole and Richie dousing Ross with a mug of St Pauli Girl..... From warm up bar to last call to Island Cruise....does that still exist???? The HUD is a must see watering hole. read more

I've been bartending for a few years now in several states and I've never encountered such a rude bartender in my entire career. There were two bartenders on with about 10 customers in the entire bar and it took my friend over a half an hour to get her beer refilled. They knew that we weren't locals so decided to not wait on us whatsoever. I was so excited to go and try this bar but I could not be more disappointed.
