Dr. Delorenzo leaves enough time for each patient to ask questions. When he asks about your hobbies it is a way to determine how much you are on your feet. Parking is funky but well placed obvious signs led you directly into the parking lot. The office manager is unprofessional and unable to take accountability for her actions…read more After I expressed my concerns for the office's lack of communication with one another (I called and left a message to see if I needed to make a payment on my account at the time of the appointment as I've always done and no returned my call. Unfortunately I had to make a trip to the office to find out that I did need to make a payment and if I was unable to I would need to reschedule and pay at that time which I did (this is normally). Unless the office manager bypasses for one reason or another. Then the following day or two I finally received a return call from the office while I was sitting in the waiting room for my rescheduled appointment informing me that I needed to reschedule and make another appointment. I explained that the late response and lack of communication amongst the staff was very stressful and problematic for patients trying to juggle busy lives. At this point I noted the lack of accountability demonstrated by the office manager as it was alarming and extremely disappointing. After this visit for the first time in over 10 years I was blocked from making visits and paying at the time of visit due to a previous balance(Management discretion). For example the appointment that I am describing was schedule and payment was made towards my balance at time of the appointment prior to seeing the doctor. Either way this ensures that the office gets paid and my bill does not increase. However now this feels more like a personal vendetta against me for speaking up about my concerns. I am a cash patient with no insurance. Now i must pay prior to appointment, then wait for an appointment to become available that works with my schedule. In some instance this could take several days or weeks. This is direct retaliation caused by expressing my concerns. It's truly freighting that someone could behave like this, in the health field where doctors and staff play such a vital role. I have patronized this business for years and this is the first instance I was treated poorly which is especially shocking as this greatly affects my health and quality of life. Dr Cappa, Schwartz and my former podiatrist who has since left the practice along with his amazing assistant. No one else prior to this current office manager has ever behaved like this. Everyone has always been personable and empathetic. Also when I mentioned my disappointment with lack of communication within the office staff. I was verbally ridiculed by the medical assistant who loudly spoke amongst the office staff and office manager and she stated "Not today Satan." Unfortunately, she was also the assistant to the new very cold distant podiatrist I saw. When I asked her was she referring to me as she made the comment immediately after I expressed my concerns. she responded," No I wasn't" with a nasty hostile tone. That interaction was then followed with meeting the new podiatrist who lacked a bedside manner however he was very gentle and effective. The black girl at the front desk is always super sweet and down to earth and reminds me of what Cappa Podiatry use to be.

He seems like he knows what he's doing but visit after visit seemed to prove useless. After several visits for the same foot issue I had to switch doctors which rectified my issue (which was minor) after two visits while Mr. Houdini kept me coming back several times, I'm convinced, to pocket my co-payments. His wonderful personality and bedside manner really got me on my initial review but I need great treatment as well as a wonderfully spirited doctor. My issue wasn't that serious but had I needed surgery I would be called "The One Foot Bandit" right about now cause I would have probably lost a foot.

Went to see doctor Sims to get an opinion outside of my area since I had kind of been getting the…read morerun around locally of just getting passed between doctors. I confirmed beforehand over the phone that they took my insurance. Come time for my appointment his office was very nice as well as his staff extremely friendly. I had brought my binder of X-rays and MRIs with me so I can present everything to the doctor. Upon getting to an exam room and explaining my situation the nurse left then came back and said they wanted to do X-rays of my feet. I told them I already had two sets as well as MRIs of both feet and that I had the discs with me as well as the reports. They insisted that they do what would be the fourth set of X-rays I had gotten on my feet in 2 years and they would not look at the multiple sets of identical X-rays I tried to provide. "Don't worry, your insurance is paying for it" one nurse said with a laugh. Rest of the visit went fine, doctor was friendly but ultimately unhelpful and referred me to yet another doctor which at this point was expected. I asked for a copy of the X-rays they took on a disk to add to my growing collection now and they told me they "didn't do that" but since I already had multiple identical X-rays at this point it didn't really matter. I thought everything was fine until a few months later a $500 bill comes in the mail citing the X-rays my insurance would not cover. When I called they simply said it wasn't their responsibility to confirm what my insurance would cover. (Then why assure me my insurance will pay for it during my visit???) Seems like they just wanted to milk my insurance provider for some extra cash and which then left me on the hook to pay for X-rays I didn't need when they could have just looked at the 3 other identical sets I had gotten, the most recent of which were less than 6 months old. I guess the moral here is contact your insurance yourself to make sure they will cover your visit AND any unnecessary x-rays the office might want to do because they'll just say whatever they need to at the time of your appointment and bill you for it later.

They are an orthopedic facility; treating musculoskeletal conditions. Using minimally invasive procedures, before those that would involve P/T afterwards. Of course the Orthopedist will recommend what procedure is to be done, based on the patient's condition, diagnosis, test results and other factors. The staff is very conscientious in maintaining sanitary conditions and the patient's wellbeing. I feel very confident going to them. I have close to 20 years of clinical experience working in a large hospital in nyc and have seen a lot situations.
