Sorry I cannot agree anymore. For over 30 years, since I was a child, Husdons Ices has always been a treat. A treat that brings back many happy memories of having an ice cream (back when the choice no choice, just vanilla) then playing on the park swings. The sound the old church gates made as they closed etc. The gates were on wheels back then. But this is no more. I recommended Hudsons to a work collegue who chastised me for sending them to such an overpriced ice cream parlour where a single scoop is the size of half a ping pong ball. I scoffed at him for being a moaner. Well I tried Hudsons again for the first time in a year and I agree with him. From the surly slip of a child who served me who had all the warmth and friendliness of a dead fish, to the two thimbles of extremely soft ice cream that consituted a double 99 for £2.80!!!!! The ice cream hardly lasted two licks before it dribbled down the cone and another three licks and it was gone. Lament a once fine institution that has succumbed to greed. Avoid if you like ice cream. If heading towards the M6 goto Mrs Downsons or Huntleys on the A59 were a single scoop is not half a ping pong ball's worth but more a tennis ball. Hudsons RIP read more
