We already had a blast but knowing they are being very careful will make me a repeat customer. We paid $30 for a one hour ride. I felt like that was a very fair price. It was beaming hot and the route had little to no shade so do dress appropriately if you are visiting in the summer.

We called him mid-morning and he met us with a high quality Kayak only a few hours later! His communication was great & they made everything easy - within 15 minutes of arriving at the dock we were out on the water. We love to Kayak, so we have been to a number of different "big-box" corporations in the area, and Hammerhead Watersports has the family-owned feel of a local business that we like supporting. Anyway, the check-in time is 3pm and check-out is 1pm. We paid fifty-three dollars per night for two adults and one dog, with a six fifty reservation charge. Check-in was easy, and the attendant was helpful; you just drive up to the office, check-in and go on your way. The layout is similar to a subdivision with cul-de-sacs and each spot having its own little yard, making it feel somewhat like camping in the woods. Our neighbors were quiet and most vehicles drove slowly. Everyone we met was pleasant and friendly. The camp itself was clean and easy to hook up. Bathrooms and showers were clean and there was plenty of toilet paper. Large trash bins were available along with gray water stations. The only thing I'd suggest is for the site identifiers to be repainted, as several had faded over time. We visited the beach, but didn't go swimming, given the temperature. The pond is catch and release and seemed maintained and not stagnant. The budget limitations need to be considered before passing judgment. We used bug spray every day and that seemed to help keep the bugs away. The site we booked had a level surface and plenty of room to back in. The water and electrical were easily accessible and worked fine. A lot of campers used an inline water filter. The water quality report is on the park website for anyone interested. The grass was well trodden, making a camp rug a must-have. There was also a fire pit with a grill attached, but we didn't use it to cook. Also, at the time, there wasn't a burn ban. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and we'll definitely return. It was fun to walk down the aisles and see all the setups and decorations and note future camp site options. How many campers are long-timers, it's hard to tell. But we were pleased and our dog loved exploring on our walks.

In addition to the full length Disc golf course that DSP has there is also a practice course. The practice course is adjacent to the campground office, to the right of the dog park area. The campground store, while small, seems well stocked with the standard things you might forget. Check out the shirts! Each Ohio State Parks has different t-shirts and Delaware SP seems to update theirs with relative frequency. We've camped a handful of times at DSP, usually in the same loop. Seems like a fair amount of the sites have low areas, it's a good idea to check out loops before booking a campsite with that in mind. Camping with an RV? The dump & fresh water fill has two lanes. There can still be a backup at times of folks waiting to dump or fill but the line moves relatively quickly. Bonus: there's a Kroger not too far from DSP.

I was on the hunt for a lesser known park to get out in, and this was a perfect fit! This is…read morelocated in the O'Shaughnessy Reservoir Twin Lakes area (Area S). There's a nice parking area that is located near the water and a boat ramp. Heading past the boat ramp, you'll find a sign that says "Welcome to Hoover Nature Preserve," and that is where you will find the trails. There's a loop one on the left that takes you through a grassy area that tracks along the woods. When you come out of there on the far side, there's another trail to the left that takes you right up to a winding little stream area, which is very pretty and has a calming noise as the water babbles along towards the reservoir. There was a large variety of water fowl to be seen - geese, ducks, seagulls, cormorants, blue herons, and egrets were all around. There were also turtles sunning themselves on logs in the water. While I was there to walk around, I also saw a birder, a kayaker, and a family fishing, so there are several activities to do. There were also a number of picnic tables located throughout the area. Nice little park!

What a GREAT hidden gem, so close to the airport and the burbs of Columbus, but yet so far!! I think more downtowns should have a woodsy area to wander and "escape" a bit from the suburban "grind." Plenty of shops, restaurants, and even a brewery to check out, also apparently lots of fun festivals, but make sure you also wander the winding, wooded walkways, a WONDERFUL way to "get away from it all, right in your own backyard!!
