My mother in law has this insurance and it's been an absolute nightmare. Unfortunately she was diagnosed with a severe form of cancer and this company is constantly delaying her care. Excel Health services their contract, and SO many doctors do not take this insurance, or maybe they refuse the Excel Health. All I know is that they constantly delay her care because there are no specialists that take this insurance. We requested to change insurance mid year because she needed a specialized biopsy and nobody in their network could do it. They refused and for weeks we searched their doctors to find someone. Never happened so ultimately she was hospitalized and then they covered it. Such a waste of time. Save yourself the headache and choose a different insurance. It's sad that they treat Medicare patients this way. read more

I've had pretty good experience with Humana Gold but I'm disabled and I can't drive cuz I have one good leg and part of my insurance package cuz we 25 rides to the doctors and back which is the biggest reason I got it to get to my doctor's appointments and the company they use care car care are terrible with Lyft I've had to cancel four appointments already because my ride never showed up or canceled 5 minutes before they pick me up I mean that's horrible for a person that depends on those rights I like everything else about them but I I got to find something that the people will pick you up when they're supposed to read more

re" humana inc, one great worker,her name was renay porter this week i had one of a kind citation, between humana and emeralls hill pharmacy, that would not disclose, the medication in there compond prescription. after 2 days argument ,between humana représentatif,, her name was renay porter, , she got the infos of what medication was in my prescription . the name was , fluorouracil. salicylic acid . if you ever get a compond medication , make sure you do a search on it to see if you can take that. there is a lot of négatif with it. it could be very dangerous for some people. i am one of them with kidney sickness ( problems) if i had taken it, it could had needed a kidney machine to survive.. humana does not even make any money with me for my medical problem. because it is not cover, i pay myself for the medication but, renay porter , when to bat for me, so i would find out what medication i would be taking. emeralls drugstore , insist that i paid for the prescription before they make it, so i did, but i will not use it. read more

it's always something with Humana!! Hang ups, customer services is terrible, transportation is not dependable at all!! I've been with Humana since March of last year and I swear every single month at least 2 to four times a month I have to call them about something. IDs, a catalog..update my address a thousand times!!! Put you on hold for long periods of time and then hang up on you and then you have to go thru the process all over again and pray when they put you on hold that they don't hang up on you!!! Or you find yourself constantly repeating the same story to four or five people!! like right now I'm on hold because my ride didn't show!! I have never seen such an inept business in my life, a serious problem since they are supposed to provide people with health insurance and prescription coverage. I was signed to Humana starting 10/01/23 by Select Quote, another service with issues I've since realized. To let them sign me without first checking the plan was a huge mistake on my part. But in my defense, they are supposed to recommend the best plan for you and know what they are doing. Well, I had to go to my required monthly doctor's appointment mandated by law due to a medication I'm on. I went to pick up my prescribed medication at my regular pharmacy and they told me Humana refused to cover it citing the dosage was too high. The pharmacy filled the prescription for me anyway and used Good RX to cover it. I had to pay over $140 out of pocket but at least I got my medication. Kudos to Walgreens Pharmacy for taking care of me when Humana wouldn't. I called Humana to see what business they had refusing me a medication I had been on since 2005, without even consulting my doctor and got an explanation I couldn't even understand. I called back to speak to someone I could understand and got a completely different story about tiers and deductibles and other stuff. So, I called a third time to speak to management and wound up with a reference number because the office I needed to speak to was closed on the weekend. On Monday I called armed with my reference number and was told they would get back to me. Well, it's 8 PM Friday and here I am writing this review and checking other Medicare Advantage plans so I can get the hell away from Humana. For your own good, do NOT use Humana. read more

Humana, whaaaa, if you want to stay in your home, watch TV and not go out of their so call network area because you might get sick or be in an accident, you will love Humana, but be careful if you happen to be unlucky and get in a accident it will be hell trying to have Humana cover your bills.phones after phones calls, and nobody to help you,they just hope you go away with $$$$$ bills. I would rather be a subject for medical experimentation than deal with Humana. For over a month I am waiting for a referral. You can't find it online. I have called, emailed, and been in online chat for about a dozen times. I keep saying, the next person I speak with can't possibly be any dumber or less competent. But I'm wrong. Plan for a few hours for every phone call. Have your phone charged. You will be disconnected multiple times. The quality on the line is about par with two tin cans on a string if one is under water. You will hear "please bear with us soon, we are receiving an unusual number of phone calls about" . If you love being on hold, y ou'll love Humana. I started February 1st. In my first month I had to lay out $900 for drugs that I got for free from Obamacare. 1 month and 30 days, I had not received any bills, even though I did go online and pay once. I was told to wait for SS to go through. Two weeks into the second month I got a disconnect notice..no bills...paid once....but a disconnect notice. They seem to work hard at recruiting "special" employees. They must practice hard disconnecting you. Spend a half hour verifying your identity, then be transferred and transferred again each time verifying your identity. Such fun! I hope to god I do not have a medical emergency this year. With Humana involved, I won't be able to live through it. I do see one thing they are good at. If you have low blood pressure, you will find it raised any time you speak with someone. read more
