On a quick getaway to Wollongong from Sydney (decided at 4pm Friday to drive down for the night) we were stuck for a place to eat. Came across Kneading Ruby (separate review). We had to wait over an hour for a table for 2! So wondered down the lane and came across Humber Bar. What a great find. The multi level bar had a great relaxed vibe. It had a mixed crowd they were mostly young but to be expected on a Friday night. We were shown to the rooftop bar, as they were at capacity downstairs. It's not a tall building and you are dwarfed by other buildings but there are no windows looking down at you and it was a comfortable spot. Ordering is done through your phone at the table. Simply scan the code, pick what you want, paid through Apple pay and drinks arrived in minutes. Since we were hungry and had about 90 minutes to wait (9pm dinner) we ordered some fried cauliflower (good) and hand cut chips (bad/soggy and greasy). The cocktails were average and i would have been better off going for a beer or 3.. Overall a great venue but could use a bit more attention to detail in their food and cocktails. The service was friendly and i could have happily stayed for hours but had to move on to dinner. A summers evening would be brilliant on the rooftop bar. read more

This experience left me as soggy as the bottom of my villain fries, so excuse the savagery. Villian fries were good, the cheeseburger was grainy and flavorless. Bbq sauce was too sweet. Had the coffee smoothie, was also disgusting. On the bright side they play decent music and the atmosphere is nice. So one star for the atmosphere and another for the Villian fries, which could have used more sauce or layer of cheese so you're not left with plain soggy fries at the bottom. Summary: Coffee smoothie a letdown, cheeseburger a grainy, flavorless letdown. Wouldn't come back. Wouldn't recommend it. read more

I came here for my birthday with a group of girlfriends and had a great time. The tapas menu is perfect for sharing and really well priced for the huge portions. We came early - just before 7pm - and it was packed so definitely come early! The tunes here are great: chill, very groovy music, that is the perfect volume to chat amongst yourselves and have a bit of a boogie. Although it's the start of winter, the rooftop was toasty warm with heaters strewn among the guests, and I've heard a rumour that blankets will soon be available! Definitely worth making the first stop on your night out. read more

Went in for a coffee last week first time the coffee was good no complaints. Has a pretty good atmosphere very layed back so I would definitely recommend it for a coffee. read more

UNI STUDENTS BE WARNED! Whilst this place is crazy cool and appealing to all the senses, like Miles Davis if he was a hipster, it is not a place that is appealing to the wallet. A couple of friends and I went to check out all the fuss, and were greeted by the gorgeous, if not oddly shaped, bar. We were incredibly thrilled to see that this place not only served alcohol by the barrel load, but also food! Yay for fancy bars with edible looking and smelling food. A girl friend and I stepped up to order and nearly immediately went back to our seats. We were defeated by the uni struggle of "Use limited amount of money wisely on food" or "use limited amount of money not the same kind of wise but pretty fricking smartly on alcohol". We opted to go halves on a chicken skewer that cost about $10 and then chat up cute boys for drinks. Sadly, it was filled mainly with women and gay men that night so I could only steal sips from other patrons glasses when they weren't looking. On the plus side, I didn't get creeped on. Overall, a lovely place to hang out with friends and have a good night. Recommend the chicken skewer. If you're a uni student on minimum wage, save up first or get smashed at pre's. read more

Really do love this bar and particularly summer evenings watching the sun set on the roof top, but oh my gosh does the wine list really let this place down... truly awful selections, please scrap it and start over! There are some great wines out there, but your choices are cheap and nasty, I've tasted better house wine at the local dodgy bowlo. Stick to spirits or cocktails until they get it sorted. Otherwise always a good evening prior to dinner plans. read more

Really hit and miss. Went for brunch on Mothers' Day, they were busy and explained we would have to wait - no problem, we expected it to be busy! Several issues around the food though... My burger came out and was warm but the fries were stone cold. The burger bun was also wet, like it had turned to mush in some parts. Other food on our table was mediocre at best. The KFC burger my partner ordered was absolutely swimming in sauce, but not in a good way. The sauce was a weird sweet chilli flavoured goop and there was so much sauce on the burger it made the crispy chicken crumb and the burger bun go soft and mushy. My dad's burger was average tasting. Mum ordered a crispy skin fish salad that looked delicious. But when she asked the manager for some cutlery so that she could eat it, he told us that they didn't have any left. Asked if he could wash some and he said that someone in the kitchen would eventually get around to it, there was nothing he could do because they'd been busy. Then he walked away without saying anything to his staff, even though we could see dirty cutlery lying around on several tables. Seriously would have taken him 30 seconds to wash a fork for her. Instead, we had to ask two more staff and she ended up waiting about 15 minutes to get a fork to eat her meal. Just kind of soured the experience really. The decor and ambience in the place is so lovely, but any time we asked for something (cutlery, serviettes, salt and pepper) we were told that they had run out because they were busy. Not good enough, either put more staff on or buy some more forks! read more

The roof top area is a nice place for a spring or summer drink. Prices are exy for Wollongong, but I guess it's the price you pay (excuse the pun) for a Sydney style bar in a regional area. Lots of short skirts and high heeled girls if you are a single man looking for someone to chat up. read more

Firstly, the atmosphere and the venue itself is 10/10. Drinking on the rooftops of wollongong in summer is a real treat.... However, UNI STUDENTS be warned, everything is ridiculously overpriced. Also the food quality varies drastically form day to day, sometimes it is excellent, other times it is burnt or just drowned in sauce. read more

Extremely disappointed. My son and I ordered Hero Fries and when we got them they were stone cold - they could have very well been from the untouched plate of fries at the empty table next to us. When we complained we were given another batch of fries but these still did not taste as good as usual - they probably just refried the dodgy batch we sent back. My son also ordered soda water and was given tonic water. We used to love going to Humber but will not be going back. read more

over priced. 15 bucks for the burger which was ok. 4 bucks extra for about 20fries.... come on. wont be returning.
