I purchase the Vanilla Ice Cream @ Costo but I wish they also would sell the Chocolate!

Half and half went bad after being open for TWO days. It's opened 8/24, now it's 8/26, use by date is 9/1. Smelled a little weird to begin with. I live in Humboldt County and think it is absurd that local milk is trucked to Modesto to be bottled and then trucked back up here. Drastic decline in shelf life since they switched to bottling in Modesto, it's no wonder and it's a real shame. We now buy clover products since they have far less of a diesel footprint than Humboldt Creamery provides to Humboldt County residents these days. Local grocery store was out of clover milk because it's so popular with the locals now- so we bought a Humboldt Creamery half and half and got burned for the FOURTH time over the past few months with bad spoiled milk. I was already done with buying it months ago but my husband brought it home this time. It wrecked our coffee this morning. What a joke. 0/5 I do buy products that are still produced locally at the Fernbridge plant, love humboldt creamery butter. But anything trucked down to Modesto and back just doesn't last or have the same quality as when products were actually bottled locally. read more

This Creamery is the real deal, the original farm country, acres of cows, bounding deer and bunnies, the the utopia and oasis that people in the city do not understand. We got the vanilla ice cream. Their ice cream has a little too much gum for me. You'll need to keep it really cold. Once it warms up, it's a bit too sticky, and a pain to get off of the spoon. I thought that the vanilla flavor was off, and definitely lacking. It's the cream and the richness of the egg that comes through the most. I was pleased that carrageenan wasn't on the ingredients list though... We typically serve it with fresh fruit, caramel & chocolate, or Dad's Rootbeer. Maybe serving this with something that stands out a bit more might help. This was recommended as being better than Trader Joe's vanilla ice cream. I disagree... I would give it 3.5 stars read more

As a connoisseur of fine foods, not expensive foods necessarily, I enjoy finding those hidden gems in the world. One of which is Humboldt Creamery. I enjoyed my first taste earlier this year in old town Auburn, CA at a small scoop shop there. Never heard of it before, ice cream is ice cream so scoop on! Omg! What the heck?!? This was phenomenal, not too fatty, no fake flavor, just genuine creamy taste, texture and liveliness if there can be such a thing in ice cream. I just recently found out that I can get retail packages of their ice creams at Whole Foods stores. If you want a real treat and and a renewed view on what ice cream should truely be, pick up some. About a measly two bucks a pint at Trader Joe's and I've never enjoyed ice cream more...and it's organic! More power to those who like egg yolk in ice cream, but I don't. This has some vegetable gums instead, but no carrageenan, with flavor and texture just the way I like it...so for the occasional treat this is my favorite! read more

I tried your Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream and it was love at first taste. Would gladly of acceptable the ripples to my middle it would of added. CAUTION ALERT - what it took me to open (and then reopen) the container lid was the most frustrating un consumer friendly packaging ever. Oh well, guess there is always a first time to use a screwdriver and pliers to open an ice cream container. McGyver would of given up. My fingers actually hurt trying to rip open that lid. Never again - I'll wait another 20 years to feel how the pain of arthritis feels like. read more

The organic chocolate ice cream is awesome! Just got a little thing of it from Trader Joe's last week, and it's all around great.

I hate this ice cream - I've never had a brand that stays so rock solid for so long after you bring it out of the freezer. Once it does soften 20 or so minutes later - it is just a light tasting vanilla that is nothing special. The best I can say is that it still better than 'Blue Bunny' which is like glue when you scoop and eat it. I only got this because I usually buy my ice cream at Costco. This must have replaced the other brand which was a definitely a notch or two better. read more

Bar none, the best tasting ice cream I've ever had! And to those having problems opening the package----simply remove that little, inch long piece of plastic and lift the cover off! I tried this ice cream by chance (I liked the organic ingredients) and it was the most delicious ice cream I've ever had (other than homemade ice cream!) I served it to guests and they also thought it was the best they had tasted. Once you figure out how to open the container, then there should be no further problems.
