They made clean cuts, showed good attention to safety, and clearly have experience working with large, established trees. The tree still has a strong structure, and it's clear they focused on reducing weight and maintaining safety, which is important with a tree of this size. The only reason I didn't give a full five-star review is that the pruning was slightly more aggressive than expected, particularly with some of the larger limbs. I would have preferred a more gradual approach to preserve a bit more of the natural canopy and shade. Overall, this is a knowledgeable and hardworking team, and I would absolutely consider using them again with a bit more detailed communication beforehand about the extent of trimming.

Last week I called for him to remove two small tree/shrubs. I needed it done within the next few days, and I acknowledged that he might not be able to come on such short notice. He said he could come and I sent him photos of the two small trees along with a 5' palm tree that I was hoping he could add onto the project. He didn't respond to the text, but that was ok because I trusted that he'd come at 8:00 a.m. the next day, as planned. Jose never showed up, and he didn't respond to my phone calls and texts. The voice mail on the other end was in Spanish, and I couldn'tunderstand it. I thought perhaps it was saying something to the effect that someone was sick and they were behind in their work, something that would explain the no-show. No one called or texted. I'm very disappointed, but I will find someone else for my tree work going forward. He can do great work, but only if he shows up. When this kind of thing happens, it's a deal-killer for me. And I am very disappointed. I finally decided on 1 star, which is "not good," because 2 stars is "could have been better" and 3 stars is "ok." We have used Green Thumb Tree Care to trim our trees and we knew we had to call them for help. After calling to advise of the situation, they had a crew out to our home within 30 minutes of the initial call. Darrell, Mark, and the entire Green Thumb Tree Care crew couldn't believe what they saw upon arrival. They reassured us that they would take care of everything and the tree top would be promptly removed. And that is exactly what they did! The crew cut branches, sawed away at a massive redwood tree top, removing it from the roof and interior of our home. They hauled away all of the debris, cleaned up the exterior and interior of the home where the tree top removal took place and even tarped off the roof to try to keep the rain out. Several hours after the crew left from completing the tree top removal, Mark and Darrell stopped by the house to see how the tarp was holding up. Such a kind gesture! They even referred me to someone who came out the next day and completed a temporary roof repair to block the hole in roof until the insurance could come out to inspect. After the temporary roof repairs were completed, Darrell called to check-in on the temp roof repairs and to make sure we were satisfied with the referral provided. Great customer service!!!
