Word on the street is that this location closed. If that's true, this is a real travesty. I hope all Oviedoans eating at BJ's Brewhouse and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, while these awesome places come and go out of business. This place was astounding. Ambiance was inconsequential. A bowl place in a strip mall. No concerns. The place was clean. Service was spectacular. The person who I take was an owner helped take our order, and she had great insights into the menu. We talked, and she gave me a good tip on mixing two of the sauces together to make a new sauce that was creamy and spicy. Very fun. Food was perfect, too. There weren't tubs of continuously heated proteins just sitting out in the open. Every order was grabbed from the cooler and heated up on the flat top. That really added a nice little crisp to the proteins, a tiny bit of char. The menu was that of a typical bowl place. Bases, hummuses, proteins, toppings, lots of variety. Everything had a nice, prominent flavor, the veg was fresh and crisp, and the quantities were very optimal. I was full after my bowl, and that doesn't always happen. Pros: Location was so great. I could have walked to this place from my home, and it was in the same strip mall as my Publix. Service was the literal best. The owner was there and everything, and she took TLC of us like we were her first customers. Very nice lady. Food was great. The bowl is a little pricy ($14) but to be honest, this was a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, open to answering and inviting questions. You can get 3 bases, 1-2 protein, 3 hummuses, endless toppings and 2 sauces to finish it off. I got couscous, warm garbanzo beans and farmer's mix greens as my bases which was a great blend of veggie, grains and bean. I got falafel for my protein and this was the real awesome bit - they fry it fresh in front of you! They also cooked the meats fresh for my friends that ordered it, either in the fryer or on the grill. I got the garlic hummus, roasted red pepper hummus and harissa hummus. I mixed it all together in my bowl so I'm not sure which one contributed which flavor but they were all delicious needless to say. You're also allowed to sample the hummus before you decide they have ~8 different ones if I remember correctly. Toppings comprised various vegetables, both hot and cold ones. They also have feta and tabbouleh for an upcharge but be aware that the amount of tabbouleh is about half a spoonful of the serving spoon. Wish we had the option of getting more sauces since there were so many options and they sounded like they'd all taste great together. Definitely don't skip the garlic sauce though, it's a classic. Overall, great service, delicious, loved the freshly prepared proteins and honestly, the bowl is a bit pricy but they do give you a good amount of food so unless you go into it absolutely ravenous, it could pan out to two meals and make it more justifiable. I'm not sure how I haven't found this place sooner! It's clean, has plenty of seating if you want to dine in and is easy to order. The employees were kind and patient with me as I figured out what I wanted to order. I got a bowl with beef and lamb to go. It was so good and a large portion. I definitely recommend! read more

Hats down to hummus republic, we just left and we are feeling so good the space is super clean , and there is lots of seating. I ordered a make your own pita, you can choose your protein just one or mix two, the options are endless once you start building your pita or bowl. My husband ordered falafel hamburger and the bread and everything inside was so fresh and delicious . The hamburger came with a side of sweet potato fries that were perfection. Hummus Republic is a great addition to our area of town! If you like Cava, you'll enjoy this restaurant as well. The concept is very similar. My fiancé even said he liked this better. We mobile ordered and it was ready to pickup before the earliest time, yay! For two bowls with no extras, the total was just under $40. While delicious, it can get pricey so we won't be visiting that often. read more

Ordered this on uber eats so I didn't really experience the inside. The food was super fresh. If I had to compare it to any place, I would say cava BUT fresher ingredients and more authentic. Just tried for the first time and I want to thank Emily again. I ordered through Uber Eats and there was a mix-up with my order. Emily tried to contact the driver but they never responded so she reached out to me and offered to hold my food for me to pickup if I couldn't get the driver to respond. Of course the driver did not respond and so I drove to get my food. They provided my order and told me to keep the other order as well which was very nice of them. I tried the gyro bowl and my mixed up order had the mushroom shawarma and lemon chicken. All was delicious, but I especially loved the roasted red pepper tahini dressing and the fried eggplant available as a topping. Their strawberry lychee lemonade is great. I've had Hummus Republic 3 times now and I've gotten the shawarma chicken bowl each time and my partner the shawarma chicken pita. It's been delicious and fresh each time. A great deal for this quality and price compared to other "bowl" style restaurants. The workers are always so nice and come up with a smile. I haven't sat down in the restaurant yet, but I enjoy the decor and feel in it; I believe it would be an ideal place to meet someone for a casual sit down lunch. read more

A very unique experience. We each had a falafel wrap. You get to add a lot of stuff as you walk through the line. I had the spinach wrap which I liked better than the wheat wrap my daughter had. They make the falafel fresh forces h sandwich. Nice touch. Unfortunately falafel not great. Two or three star. They need to do better if they want to increase business. Hummus very good. Three or four star. Olive flavored spred very good. I added some to the hummus on my wrap. Egg plant excellent. Five star. Tahini sauce very good. Expensive for lunch. Two wraps and one drink and a tip $39.62. Therefore won't go back as often as I would at a more reasonable price. Option is a pita or bowl. Bowls looked huge. Pita very small. I could only eat half my wrap since they are so big. Do another option is to share a wrap if you and your partner can agree on the same filling.
