This is my go-to Dog Park. I love in Brighton so it's pretty close. It's completely fenced in which is really nice. In a way it has 4 sections. The main play area for all dogs, a smaller fenced in area at the very front that I think is technically for smaller dogs but all dogs go in. There's also a "forest" area as I like to call it, where my dog loves to go exploring. He loves sniffing around and navigating between all the trees rather than always just running out in the main field. He's a curious little guy and has gotten to the age that he doesn't need/want to play with all the dogs the whole time. There's also a back area that has a gate that leads out to the neighborhood as well as a small fenced in park for kids with swings, slides, etc where dogs aren't allowed. In the winter it gets pretty nasty but that's where the smaller fenced in area came in real handy. There are trash cans only for pet waste so take home and throw away what you bring in! There isn't a water fountain for the pups so bringing water is highly suggested! There aren't always bags so always have some on hand in case! There are regulars (like Dez and I) and newbies which Dez always loves meeting new pups :)

    Playground in the back.

Newton is cracking down on odd leash dogs in this area. And apparently will be charming for the leashed in area soon. Super muddy.

It can get a little muddy, but it's a great size and super convenient to Brighton and Brookline!!

New Balance graciously allows parking at 145 Newton St in Brighton though the park is technically Newton.

Rogers Park is great for families with kids and families with furry kids. My dog absolutely loves…read morethis park and she always tries to drag me there when we are out for a walk. This park has two baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts and a kid's playground. One of the swings in the playground actually supported my weight and swung easily. This totally brought back memories of me when I would beg my parents to take me to a playground with a swing because my neighbors were hogging the swing that was in my grandpa's backyard. During winter, you can see kids sledding on the small hill. Between 0430 to 0630pm, you can see people bringing their dogs before sunset. It's really fun to see the dogs hop around the snow like bunnies although it's not so fun when you accidentally step on sniper poop that is hiding in the snow patiently waiting to make a squishy impact with your snowboot. During the summer, parents of furry children hang out and drink beers and enjoy the relaxing weekend. All of the pet owners seem to be responsible and they only bring friendly/socialized dogs. Some even bring enough water to share with the other dogs so that no dog is forced to chug nasty mud water that sometimes hang around in the corners of the park. I just love how everyone is friendly, both canine and human. The only drawback is that the park is not completely fenced in so if you have a psychotic dog like mine, get ready to chase after your furry child so that he/she doesn't get hit by a car. Also, I wish that during the summer, they keep the lights on everyday, even if it's just for a few hours. I noticed that they only keep it on when there's a soccer or baseball match.
