I'm giving them two stars only because I harvested a bull elk on my third day and I got to hunt with who I think is there best guide Scott. Outside of that it was a bit of a joke. Jt had over booked his third season and did not have enough room for his hunters. Me and another hunter were sent down the mountain on are first day and stayed in this dump of a ranch house for two days that had rats the size of small cats living in it and kept us up all night running around on us while we tried to sleep at night, not cool. On top of that it was my guides first time ever guiding in what is considered a trophy unit for Colorado that took me 13 years to draw which I wished I knew ahead of time. He complained about having to drive his own vehicle and would not go more then a mile or two from the ranch house to find some bigger bulls. We had seen elk for the first two days but not what I was looking for which my guide numerous times tried to get me to shoot. On the second day my guide wanted to quite on me in the morning because of the rats I talked him into going out that morning and hunting and then we would figure out are sleeping situation for that night. We ended up moving four hours back up to the main camp which messed up my afternoon hunt for that day. When we got back to the main camp at night time my guide finally quit on me and loaded his stuff up and left the main camp before Jt got back never to be seen again also not cool. Back at the main camp there was no room for me in any of the tents so thanks to Cody W. I was able to stay in his cabin (that was nice thank god) 15 min. down the road. I told myself that night I'm going to shoot the first bull I see big or small pack my stuff up and get the heck out of this camp never go guided again. The next morning I get teamed up with Scott who was awesome! to hunt with. We go out and jump two cows on are way in then spot a bull at first light but could not tell how big he was and ended up losing sight of him. So we headed father down the drainage only to find another bull which I ended up shooting I figured he scored about 270" to 280" 6X6. I look back at it now and wonder if I would have been teamed up with Scott at first to begin with the rating of this hunt could of been different and quality of bull elk that I saw could have been better knowing Scott's years of experience as a guide. On another note the food was not all that good and never was hot by the time I eat considering what I paid ($5500) for this hunt. I think Jt and Allout have gotten more noticed because of his youtube videos and his first few years running Allout and needs to find away to get back to that going forward. It would have been nice to have gotten a follow up phone call from Jt in regards to my hunt and maybe even a bit of a refund of some money considering what happened which he never did. But I guess I was successful in the end with taking an elk which I could have done on my own. I'm sure other hunters experiences are different then mine and were Allout for them but mine sure wasn't. Knowing what I know now if I ever get a chance to hunt this unit again I would do my own camp and make sure I have an atv to get me down some of the roads as they are pretty gnarly. If you ever get a chance to hunt this unit and chose to go with Allout I hope your experience turns out better then mine did.

I had no idea that Rand, Colorado is a wintering ground for elk from a 50-100 mile radius. Every year, these animals migrate from their spring and summer range to settle in and around Rand for the winter--just like they've done for thousands of years! If you've never hunted this part of the world, get ready. Along with elk, you're likely to see moose, black bear, mule deer, and antelope. Dorothy, you ain't in Kansas anymore when you sign up with Ivory & Antler Outfitters! Shout out to Larry--the amazing chef. Over the course of my hunting career, I have hunted with a number of outfitters. Ivory and Antler…read moreOutfitters is a "world class" operation. The guides are extremely knowledgeable in the species that you are hunting. In my case, I had a license for bull moose that took 30 years to get. The head of the company, Earl Oesterling, was very informative about everything I needed to do to prepare. Two months in advance, he showed me the area we would be hunting. He described the behavior patterns of the bulls before the rut, during the rut, and late in the rut (when I would be hunting). He explained all the variables that could come into play to enhance my hunt, or that might hinder it. My guides, Richard Robinson and Ryan Perdue, are extremely knowledgeable in the habits and behavior patterns of bull moose late in the rut. I interacted with all the other members of the staff at camp. Each employee was levelheaded, knowledgeable about wild game and hunting, and had an agreeable personality. As an employer myself, I quickly saw that there was not one lazy or lax person among the employees. The kitchen was well equipped, and it was more than adequate for feeding the hunters staying there as well as the outfitter's staff. The camp cook was outstanding! We stayed in a renovated bunk house. Each bedroom had a real bed, with a good mattress and like-home bedding, as well as electricity, gas heat, and Wi-Fi (which helped me stay in touch with my business). Every piece of the company's equipment was top notch, i.e. it was more than adequate for the job, and it was in proper working order. All their trucks were in excellent condition, free of any mechanical problems, and they were more than adequate for the places we had to go. There were no badly worn or flat tires. The truck used for hauling moose back to camp had a sturdy winch, that easily pulled my moose into the bed. My guides were equipped with first-class optics. My hunt was very well run and coordinated from the beginning to the end. Everyone, even in camp, was on the lookout for moose moving around. I ended up harvesting a magnificent Boone & Crockett-class bull. After we spotted my bull, Rich and Ryan watched him and figured out where he was going. We went on a cross-country hike that lasted an hour and a half, working our way through willow breaks and hay fields, crossing irrigation ditches and streams. When we got to a point where they thought we were in his line of march, they pointed to a large area of willow brush and said that was the place he would likely step out into the open. Within two minutes, the bull stepped out exactly where my guides said he would. An hour later, my bull was in the truck and headed back to the skinning shed at camp. The next morning, I followed Earl Oesterling's truck to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife office in Steamboat Springs, where they collected a tooth and we completed all the reporting paperwork. Earl then took the carcass to a game processing plant. If I had not been successful in harvesting my bull, would I still be writing this complimentary review? Absolutely!! Would I hunt with them again? Without any hesitation!! This is a "world class" outfitter!

Beginning a city here proved to be a poor choice as the waterways were prone to periodic flooding. The City shifted to the northeast and this area was ignored and filled up with heavy industrial users. A huge flood in 1965 destroyed much of that infrastructure and provided an opportunity for redevelopment. The Greenway Foundation was a prime mover in the 1970s to create a park highlighting this area. A major update in the 1990s focused on floodplain management and further enhanced the park as a hub for the regional trail system. Today this is a highlight of Lower Downtown. Shoemaker Plaza begins at the REI building and extends down to the north edge of the South Platte River. The main park area begins at the south edge of the River and covers both sides of Cherry Creek. The trail system runs through this and continues north, south, and east. This is a beautiful space and exists in its own world, apart from the bustle of Lower Downtown. It is well worth a visit.

We ended up packing everything up and going across street to Target to use restroom instead.

I am a professional reseller and saw some books beyond the counter. The dog balking was intimating and wouldn't shut up and I love dogs. I asked to see a few of the books and took a picture and scanned one for pricing. Dude immediately freaks out and is extremely unprofessional going off about how others are doing the same thing with other products. He said I was wasting his time although there was no one else in the store(I wonder why). He was extremely condescending and treating me like a thug or thief off the street. All he had to do was tell me to kindly leave because "he doesn't cater or accept" resellers in his store. Instead, he's getting a bad review and if one person doesn't shop there that is reading this it wasn't a waste of time. God awful business owner and I told him off the gates I owned a bookstore and was complimenting him at the same time. The whole encounter took about 3-4 minutes tops and I walked out laughing knowing this dude it just a complete fool with little knowledge of how business works. Stay old buddy! I'm lol still from today's event at your shop. This old-timer is just salty because it's business has not adapted. Books were extremely overpriced it wasn't even close. Very out-dated inventory. Dude has NO CLUE what he is doing. It's 2023 not 1970 and if he hates resellers in any capacity that much, well just put a sign on the front door or act professionally and tell me to leave. The comment that it is a "No Frills" Shop, the service and support are founded on not just the broadest research, but hard won experience. They will discuss the needs you have first. It is never a rush to sell, but a detailed education, and what best suits you. Observing many people coming in through the shop, appreciating Dave's gentle presence, waiting for the visitor to ask a question. He is there but non-intrusive. One time, someone came in wanting a dry suit, knowing nothing. He asked what dry suit recommendation. I had offered to get us lunch (my turn to buy). This newbie would take awhile, so I waited almost an hour, then left to pick up lunch. Almost another hour after returning, with hot food, the newbie left, educated. When I bought my first of three underwater cameras from Dave,the time came to select a case. Not being rich, I was whimpering at the Pelican case recommended for the camera kit. Without a word, he showed up from the back with a used case. Another example was a wet-suit from Dave. Was happy with it. Then, my fault, I damaged it. Past any warranty. Dave, in his normal understated way said, Bring it in" I replied, "but what can be done?" He said again, "bring it in". I did. A week later i got a call, saying, "it's fixed Dave has a passion for diving. He supersedes any dive shop or instructor I have met. He likes to befriend all that come into his shop, it is not just a job to him. It defines his soul. Before locating his shop, I visited most of the area shops. I wondered around looking at the inventory which exceeded what I saw in the other shops (and still does). I was already a certified diver. I was undisturbed during this search I asked a few questions. A friendship was born. Since then, I certified as Advanced and Rescue. And a bucket load of Safety is a huge concern. It is discussed in shop conversations and trips. And in them are always a number Rescue divers This includes the trips. They are very competitively priced, and even lower, the food is great. The worst trip I was ever on with Dave was beyond fantastic. The best were better. Yes, no non-sense, no frills for the uneducated eye, but the best stocked, furnished with exceptional instructional talent, nicest staff, no non-sense dive shop, Colorado SCUBA Shop is the choice. You become family.
