Majority of her "good" reviews are given by students who were told BY MRS KIM to leave a review in return for extra credit. She mocks students in front of others, she discloses students learning disabilities as a topic of discussion in her class, and she will expose a student's personal family issues with the class. Her criticisms and lessons are not helpful to the children as some students leave her program doing worse than when they first started. She will jeopardize student's safety to save a few bucks. On multiple occasions, she will leave students unattended. The front door to her facility is always unlocked regardless of the time of day/night, creating an opportunity for any stranger to enter. If you are looking for a place to help your child who is struggling academically, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. Their ability to improve is along the lines of watching a few Youtube videos. Parents seek private tutoring when their child needs help. However, Mrs. Kim will not help a child in need. In fact, she will only help the children who are already excelling. This company does not just do tutoring, but teaches students who are not able to be in the classroom for various reasons. This is why it is extremely critical that the employees of this company have the exact same work that is being taught in the classroom. The teachers of the students using Creative Tutoring will give the in-home instructors vague descriptions of their lessons, with a few handout sheets if you're lucky, and will expect them to do their job for them, instead of just enclosing a copy of their lesson plans that they would actually be using inside the classroom. People should also be very wary of working for this company. They offer what seems like a generous hourly pay, $25 for one two hour session a week, but do not tell you that you are responsible for making lesson plans and assignments, which amounts to an additional 5-7 hours a week of UNPAID work. Yes, we all know that teachers are supposed to put in extra time outside of the classrooms, but they are the ones getting a generous salary and benefits. If you work for Creative Tutoring, you will barely be making minimum wage once you include all the planning, creating lessons, and tedious paperwork.
