I decided to have bits of lots - Prawn Crackers, Spring Rolls, Prawn Toast, Pakora, Popadoms, Garlic Bread with a little spoonful of Macaroni Cheese and then Chicken Korma with Nan Bread (of course). Amazing what you can eat when you have lots of little bits of things. Friend had more of a meal with a mixture of indian food and Italian. I left room for pudd because I love the Chocolate Fountain although there are numerous choices of cakes and goodies. Thoroughly enjoyed it as did my friend. Worth a visit and a reasonable price.

The hot holding temp on many dishes was not being maintained and after our last visit, our entire party had bad diarrhea which is a sign of a failing food hygiene system at this location. The food is poor because it all tastes the same - Asian. You want Chinese? You get basmati rice and spices like tumeric which just don't belong in Chinese food. The Chinese curry tastes the same as the Indian section curry. Everything is under seasoned and there was a poor choice out for a Friday evening. The Italian section was equally awful with overcooked pizzas which lacked meat toppings and undercooked crunchy mac n cheese. Indian section had the best choice and most flavour. This was fine but we paid for a world buffet not an Indian one and the dishes we had in common were from the Indian section so I presume this is where we picked up the bacteria which caused our bum gravy. Dessert section has improved. Was happy to see carrot cake back. Overall, the world buffet was mediocre and over priced for the quality of food we had on this visit. I'll stick to the Glasgow locations in future. Shame as the warm, friendly staff in Motherwell outshine the service in every Glasgow location.

It was £11.99 for the buffet as we went mid week. Unfortunately it was the middle of the road for me on their food. Aye they had, Chinese, Indian, supposedly Thai, Italian and surprisingly a taco, so Mexican as well then. So yes it was quiet, which we wanted but this disappointingly meant two bad things. 1. It meant some of the food was dried out, so had been lying for quite a while. My man's taco was brick hard. 2. The staff were constantly coming to our table asking how everything was. I don't mind the once but every 5 minutes by every single member of staff in there. GO AWAY!!! WE'RE FINE! The girl who we were greeted by and explained how it worked was absolutely lovely and very helpful and friendly. She served us our drinks and was the first to check we were ok and then left us to it. There was plenty to choose from but I felt it was more Indian dish focused. This maybe due to the restaurant being run by Indians/Pakistanis?! The girl apologised to us for the other staff harassing us when we went to pay her the bill, she said they can be overwhelming. We also said about our food being quite dried out and she apologised again and said we should have said something because they would have cooked up something else. It was kind of her but we didn't realise we could and when going to a buffet I don't always know what I want and will like. I also wanted my food instantly, hence going to a buffet, so no wait. It was an alright experience, only lifted by the friendly girl staff member (who I would gladly rate 5 stars) but I don't think we'll be hurrying back soon.

Noone can someone master 7-8 different types of world cuisine. It is a really big restaurant with booths and tables. Being so big and it being a Sunday probably contributed to the lack of atmosphere. The staff were attentive but then there were only a few people in. The food was meh! Some of it had been left out a while and this was obvious. The one positive was that my boyfriend fancied satay chicken and we asked for this. The chefs made it up fresh for him and delivered it to our table. It was alright. The second positive was the chocolate fountain. They had marshamallows and other fruit which was nice. Will not be rushing back.

This place is TERRIBLE…read more We'd heard good things about this place and living about a 20 minute drive away, in the wild of North Lanarkshire where good Indian food is hard to come by, we decided to give it a try. Parking is an issue from the start - there is very limited space around and no car park. We were lucky and got a space on the street outside someone's house, as someone else was leaving. Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown to a table squeezed in next to the drinks cabinet. The whole ambience of the place is 1980s social club. The tables are very close together and if it had been busy, which it wasn't, it would have been pretty uncomfortable being cheek by jowl with the table next door. The service was atrocious. We were asked by a very young girl what drinks we wanted, and off she went to fetch them. After about 10 minutes, she came back with a tray with our two drinks, and two other drinks, both pints of soft drinks with ice. After depositing our drinks on table, she then dropped the tray, depositing a further two drinks all over our legs and feet. Although she muttered an apology as she wiped it up, there was no attempt made to ask if we needed towels to mop ourselves up, nor did the management seem to be interested. To add insult to injury, we waited at least 15 minutes before we eventually flagged someone down to ask for a menu. A gormless young chap then handed us two paper take-away flyers. At this point, I was thinking about getting up and leaving, but a girl then came over to give us the correct menus and tell us about the buffet. Sadly, we didn't see this girl again during our visit - she seemed to be the only person in the building with more than one brain cell, so she was obviously in high demand. This is also the only time I've ever been to an Indian restaurant and they have clearly been AGAINST you ordering from the a la carte menu! With no further assistance in sight, we eventually just helped ourselves to the buffet - clearly, ordering anything else was not an option, and I was ravenous by this point. The starters were all dried up and lukewarm - if it wasn't for the crudely printed signs, I wouldn't have even been able to identify some of the items. Hats off though for pushing the boundaries of "Indian cuisine" by including fish fingers and chicken nuggets, truly a global experience. The curries themselves were fine - a wide selection was on offer, though mostly chicken based. There were a couple of lamb curries, but as the printed menu only offered mutton, I'm unsure of the veracity of that. There was one dish with prawns in, too. The three curries I sampled were just OK - nothing special at all. The chicken garlic masala was clearly just the garlic mushroom starter with chicken instead of mushrooms - thrifty! Poppadoms, condiments and naan breads were fine and in plentiful supply. We didn't sample the dessert options - we were so thoroughly demoralised by that point, that we couldn't wait to leave. We had to wait what felt like an ice age for our bill to arrive and then someone to find the card machine and the wherewithal to bring it to our table. I would only return here under duress, possibly at knife point.

Best time to go in my opinion is lunch, if you go I would recommend the cream of chicken soup, It really lives up to its name it is extremely creamy and has such a strong, savoury flavour. To people who don't like strong flavoured food then I wouldn't recommend this to you maybe go for the other option like chicken noodle or have some sushi, for desert they have a large variety of cakes, jelly (jello), ice cream/ice lollies. Overall an amazing restaurant amazing for someone who loves culture! - me

It's a buffet, and the set price for the lunch I think was £9.50 for an adult if I'm not mistaken. When we got in I was overwhelmed by the absolute tackiness of the decor. Pink, sparkles, baby greens, completely overdone table covers etc. 'twas all a bit over the top and tacky. We were seated at a table by a waitress who's English wasn't particularly good, and drinks were brought over. We were then told we can go up and help ourselves. Now I thought China Buffet King in town had a small selection of food, but this was ridiculous. There was maybe about 20 dishes in total over 4 areas, and none of them were particularly better than others. Dry, tasteless food for the most part, and when it wasn't tasteless, I'd wished it was. I'd never recommend CBK to anyone, but if it's there or this place, you should probably just stick to your chain.
