He claimed he purchased $600 worth of piping, but I now believe he was lying because he only provided handwritten prices on paper with no proper receipts. I told him the work needed to be tested and approved by the inspector before we would pay any remaining balance. Unfortunately, the grease trap was installed backwards and the fittings were incorrect. When I contacted him about the issues, he stopped answering completely. Beware -- do NOT hire this man. The inspector even stated that the job looked like it was done by a handyman, not a licensed plumber. We will be taking legal action.

I read plumber recommendations on St. Thomas Happenings but only got voice mail after 3 different plumbers were contacted. When I tried Matthew's he answered himself and agreed to come immediately. He was here in no time, and said my faucet was worn out and needed replacing. He went off and bought the required new faucet for tub and shower (two pieces) showed me the bill and then replaced them. My bathroom sink faucet was stiff, so he loosened it up and told me I would soon need a new one but it would work for a while yet. He only charged one hundred dollars plus the cost of the fixtures. He works out of his home and has low overhead with no employees but himself, so can afford senior discounts! Certainly deserved a five star review.
