It is well worth looking this place up and making the effort to go there if you are looking for…read moreflooring. Situated in a coverted church in Kemp Town they stock a huge range of not just carpets but also other types of flooring eg : vinyl, laminate and lino. The stock they have is contemporary and of high quality. They make the chain flooring shops look awful in comparison. Prices are more than reasonable for the quality and service they provide. I purchased and had fitted by them a vinyl floor and a lino floor. I have nothing but compliments for them. They were efficient and punctual and I was really pleased with the finished result. Only gripe is that (like most of Brighton) it is quite difficult to park near their shop which could be offputting if you just want a quick browse. They aren't in the centre of town so unless you live near there a car is required. Well worth five stars !

On the contrary, other than the obscenely budget carpets that Carpet Right offers, D.J. Flooring provides better prices on the decent quality bits and bobs. Its just that finding it can be a little tricky... The place was crammed to the brim when I went, and where as Carpet Right has metres and metres of each carpet to examine, You only get to examine the wares in small patches here. Still, you can never tell what wall paper, curtains and carpets are going to look like until you get them home, and seeing as you can sample the carpets and vinyls here, you should do just fine. That new-fangled flooring that clicks together was especially reasonably priced here.

They were trying to pass off the cheapest 2.3 tog bad underlay while charging me for the one I requested as a requirement. Secondly, replacement of the parts of the gripper requested was promised. I had to tell them to get out and find a new honest and courteous vendor. We are now suing to get the deposit back.

As well as offering a wide range of natural and wool carpets, rugs, runners and wooden flooring, they also measure and fit floors. The natural flooring is naturally expensive but as Davey attests, it looks great, is more environmentally friendly and hard-wearing. At the moment, they have a selection of sisal, coir, seagrass and jute flooring but the stock changes constantly. For those looking for a small piece of flooring for a bathroom or single bedroom, they have a great selection of end of roll carpets and vinyl at the front of the store. These starts around £10 and go up to about £100 with the measurements clearly stated.
