We did the 530 dolphin tour, it was amazing and it turned into a sunset cruise. The Captain made sure we saw dolphins in the bay/inlet and the saw another pod of dolphins in the oceaWe had so much fun with the crew and passengers. Best boat trip in SC. read more

We booked this within hours of taking the 5-7pm cruise and was easily accommodated (although it was mid-October). I read a few negative reviews bc of a last minute change in dock location. We did get a voice mail from the company about an hour or two before sailing, so be on your toes w checking emails, etc before you go. Boarded on time and the check in was easy peasy. Loved the commentary of the captain - was just enough informative info about the islands, etc while we sailed without being too much. Cruise was beautiful and we definitely saw our share of dolphins trailing behind the shrimp boat. Was the perfect amount of cruise time (two hours) at an amazing price. We didn't have our kids with us (girls trip), but just to take an enjoyable cruise out on the water was worth the price alone! At the end the captain acknowledged the two "shipmates" as they walked around collecting tips. I'm sure during the busy season this is earned, but other than them helping us on/off the boat and tying up the lines - I didn't see what we were tipping for. (If you ordered food or drinks from inside - you tipped separately). We tipped a nice amount, but felt a little on the spot. If anything - the captain deserved the tips IMO. We will definitely recommend this place to our Sunset Beach renters. Kudos to the Atlantic Star for a great excursion. read more

We had 6-10 yr old grand kids. They took us out to where they had a fishing boat and we seen dolphins. They had fishing boat drop Net of sea creature stuff in our boat and for $10 per / kid got a jar with creature they picked in a clear alcohol solution. Kids thought cool. Boat ride ok. Could sit inside or outside. Confirm by phone if you buy online. Used them twice. read more

Took the 2 hour dolphin cruise yesterday on the Atlantic Star. It was perfect! The captain and his crew were top notch! Captain got us to a point were dolphins were plentiful, narrated the tour along the intracoastal waterway with some interesting facts. The crew was friendly and accommodating. Would definitely recommend and will take more family when they come to visit our local area! Kudos to the captain and his crew of the Atlantic Star on 8/26/2023! read more

NEVER book these cruises. These people are unscrupulous & liars. They take your money & conveniently do not send you an email of where you are going until a 1/2 hour before cruise & then send you to another port in a different state. You book a cruise & they send you to a different cruise. Even-though it was them who did this to us they wouldn't give us a refund or exchange. My family and I had booked this cruise for our last day of vacation. We went to the location they sent us (in North Carolina), only to get there and see a sign that said we had to go to a different location in South Carolina. After speaking to the manager it seemed that they would hold the boat for us, if they could. We finally got an uber and were updating them as we were driving. Needless to say, we arrived as the ship was leaving. Julie, who was mainly answering our calls, was very rude and truly not helpful at all, including when I asked if we could speak with the manger as he knew the situation, which she never put him on the phone. We were on the phone with Julie as we arrived,10 minutes after the set time, and we watched the ship just start to pull away. The customer service we received, and missing the ship due to their oversight was enough for us to never go back and leave us feeling incredibly disappointed. read more

One of the mates was extremely rude and racially insulting to my son's girlfriend. He tried to make fun of her Spanish speaking, although she speaks perfect English, probably better than the racist a--hole. I noticed that she wasn't having a fun time, but I didn't know why. She didn't tell me until a couple of days later because she was so insulted by the racist a--hole. I think her experience was completely ruined. I called the manager but he didn't seem to care very much. I was a repeat customer but I will never go there again. I would give zero stars if possible, preferably about 20 negative stars. read more

Had a great morning trip with Capt Brandon and Justin our on the Blue boat. Caught Spanish mackerel, sea bass, frog fish, lizard fish and seberal shark. Calm seas, sunshine and fishing made for an excellent trip for 5 of us on our charter. Justin was kind enough to straighten out my birds nest gear a time or two and we had a bag full of fish meat to take home. Good times on the water. Recommend the charter boats and would do it again. read more
