I came away with no diamonds but some decent sized stones, one of which was amethyst. The first cavern was the big one. It had some beautiful formations. We received great information from our guide and a little history lesson. Be sure to wear shoes with good grip as the stone steps may be damp as you go lower. At the bottom of the second cavern, you are 110 feet below ground level. Again, wear the right shoes as it is damp. The formations were beautifully lit for your viewing pleasure. If you are visiting Branson, this is just a little more than 30 minutes on down the road!

They have two caves but we only did the mystic cavern one due to time. They closed at 5. They also have a pretty extensive gift shop filled with crystals and knick knacks. The tour lasted about 45 minutes. Make sure your shoes can get wet because the cave floors were damp and had puddles. It can also be chilly in the caverns. Amazing experience! P.S I have to say driving up the mountain to get here was a journey in itself! There were not many pit stops to use the restroom and the only real food place was subway which was about 30 minutes from the caverns. They have a small community in the mountains but it is small and not everything is always open. Beautiful drive up though. Not for the faint of heart if you are scared of heights because there are many drop offs where you see the valleys 1000 ft below.

We are not…read moreexperienced kayakers and you should keep that in mind as you read this because that is the perspective from which I write. The person who took my reservation on the phone was fantastic. When we got to their main location, the girls who helped get us ready were outstanding. There was one person in particular, who was so incredibly helpful and put us at ease. When you finish up your registration you can use the restrooms at their store and there's plenty of merchandise that you can buy, both things that are helpful (think sunscreen, dry bags, snacks), and things that are fun, like postcards and stickers. We paid for a tandem kayak and for a valet service, which was very helpful and made it so that we had to drive to the put in place and then only had to pick up our car when we got to the end of our time. I didn't realize that the drive to the place where we would pick up the kayak and start our float (about 18 mins from the store) was over about 2 miles of a VERY bumpy, dusty, rocky road. Somebody might have mentioned it or it was in the literature, but I just missed it and was slightly worried because we just had a 2 wheel drive rental, and it was rough riding to get there so keep that in mind. When we arrived there was a pit toilet which was helpful and the guys helping with the boats were good (You might want to have some cash to give you a tip although I don't think that's expected but our guy was extra helpful.) Also I want to mention that I am plus-sized and had no problems with the kayak at all. We had an incredible time and it took us about three hours altogether including one stop along the way of about 20 minutes where we ate a snack (made sure to clean all of our trash up), swam for a while and went on our way. We went on a Tuesday at 11am and thought it was slightly crowded, it never felt overwhelming, and we were able to slow down or speed up whenever we felt that we were too close to another group. I also thought that people were respectful when they had speakers and it was never loud or obnoxious. Two things I didn't know before that I hope can help someone else. The first is that there were a couple of times when we went over fast moving water (I can't even really call it rapids, but definitely moving quickly) where we got stuck on the rocks and almost turned over. Not a huge deal and almost entirely due to our lack of experience, but just keep that in mind it's not 100% floating peacefully the entire time. Once we had that experience on the first couple times we were completely fine for the rest. The other thing is that just past the place where you pull in and drop off your kayak is a super fun area where you can paddle into a cave, jump from the rocks, and just kind of hang out. If we would've known that it was there we would've stayed around a bit longer. Again, nobody's fault Just something we didn't know beforehand. I highly recommend Buffalo River outfitters - we had a blast!

We have two teenagers and he managed to keep them interested in the historical part, and keep them on the toes for the off road part. We all had a blast! I loved when he confirmed things had already told my Uber traveled friend and he really sold Branson as the coolest place to live on the planet. Her very first words were, "Why are you here?" -- no greeting, no courtesy, just instant hostility. We were only there to take a quick photo of the outside and look at the grounds, as we were considering renting the venue for a wedding. We're from out of town and were in the area just for the weekend, but she immediately accused us of trespassing instead of simply asking what we needed. To make things worse, she blocked the driveway so we couldn't turn around properly, forcing us to back through the grass rather than letting us move forward a couple of feet to the wider part of the drive. I'm also quite sure her behavior was influenced by my alternative haircut and color, which made the experience feel even more judgmental and discriminatory. We will never come back here or recommend this place to anyone.
