So all the locals rave about this place. But the food was awful. Drinks is the only reason to come (and by drinks I don't mean milkshakes) I was there with two other friends one Italian, one Spanish and myself from the UK, we ordered three separate dishes, I went for the Satay Pizza (big mistake!) and my friends went for the beef and chicken burger, they were all dreadful! Seriously avoid. Couldn't believe how bland it was...! Plus expensive, however if you want to splash out there are better items - go for the specials on the menu - I hear far better! read more

We came here on a Saturday night over a long weekend at 6pm and this place was packed! Luckily we made a reservation and had secured a table indoor. (it was a chilly night). There is no waiter service. You wait in line, order your food, wait for the buzzer to go off and collect your own food. By 6.15pm, the line (to order your food) went out the door! It took us 15 mins before it was our turn to order-and-pay , and another 20 mins before we got our food. I guess that's not TOO bad, considering how busy the restaurant is. Food wise, it wasnt that good. I had the chicken/chorizo linguini. The pasta was cooked to my liking but the whole plate of food was swimming in oil. Half way through, I was done, could not take another bite wasnt slurping a mouthful of oil.... Overall, a great place to hang out with mates but if you want a quiet dinner, go elsewhere :) read more

I visited the Husky on Australia day of all days, with a group of newly made Aussie friends. We got there around 8pm. It was pretty busy, but nothing insane (I was imagining Mad Max from what everyone was telling me). This place is located right on the water, with boats in the docks and quay walls nearby (btw "quay" is pronounced "key" in UK and Australia - I was corrected by a Brit in the train station). Pros: Multiple Bars to get drinks quicker Both indoor and outdoor seating Live music (being from Austin this is always recognized) Pretty decent bathrooms Good selection of drinks Smoking allowed outside (not a smoker, just understand some people don't like street smoking) Cons: Closes reletively early (it is located in a neighborhood) This is a good place for friends to get together for a couple drinks and to listen to some music. Not sure if it's a good place to meet anyone as the social areas are full of tables which in my experience is condusive to isolation between groups (as opposed to standing around the bar or or dancing areas). Extortionate prices, uncooked food, rude service, 80s' decor Basic pub meals cost almost $30! On top of this, there was a 10% public holiday surcharged for "Easter Saturday"- which is not recognised as a public holiday in Australia. Ordered the prawn salad - the prawn meat was translucent and cold; it was raw!!! When I took the meal back to the kitchen (because this place was so classy that you have to collect the meals yourself), a man working in the kitchen argued with me and said they were cooked! Then he reluctantly took the prawns out of the salad and cooked them. I spoke to 2 other staff members - and of course, they didn't offer a fresh meal or an apology. The decor is very unpleasant. It reminded me of an old bingo hall. Unattractive white curtains (well, they have turned beige now as they were probably from the 80s'), old floorboards, old and cheap chairs - just looking at this is enough to make you sick! If I weren't with a group, I would have walked out. Never again. read more

Stopped here for lunch while at Jervis Bay on a gorgeous spring day. It was perfect weather for sitting ouside and enjoying the sunshine. Hubby and our friend had the battered fish and chips with salad, which they said was good. I had the seafood pizza which was not even hot, and the crust was mushy. The flavors were good, but if it had been cooked properly it would have been quite yummy. But we don't go to the Husky Pub for the food: we go for the view. read more

Sunday afternoon - Great table on the deck (but in the shade) with an amazing view looking out over the ocean - Excellent veggie burger and a good selection of beers on tap (nothing too adventurous, but a good selection) - fish and chips was good too, and kids had pizza, which was on the upper end of standard pub pizza - all in all a great afternoon! read more

Service is limited to the pay at the counter (which can sometimes be a reasonable wait in line) - but once you have your buzzer to pick up your food .. We rarely wait long before it's ready. Great building and location. Extensive menu but hopeless for vegetarians or vegans. It's definitely a 'quantity over quality' and when they're busy it's a production line of 'average'. We stopped in for thursday lunch in the school holidays. The food looked fantastic, but the chips were cold and burgers were warm. $50 for 2 adults and a child was a bit overpriced for the quality of the food. read more

A very popular pub with a great location, friendly staff and a predictable food menu. What lets this place down is it gets over busy and perhaps understaffed but food takes an eternity to order and then a long wait to get the food when it's busy. Also they seem to run out of things a lot. If you have plenty of time, happy to eat whatever is left, then try it on a sunny evening. read more

Mixed feelings here. My meal was great (gnocchi), however I'm not a fan of standing in line to order food and then to come pick it up myself. That's the style here, so as long as you know it, no big deal. I would have expected some service for the price point though. I ordered a Bloody Mary and didn't taste a bit of vodka, and they used plain tomato juice with no seasonings. She was "kind enough" to let me know there was some on the table that I could use if I wanted to. I get it - if you only want to serve beer because it's easy, just tell me. Didn't use my head and decided to ask if they had a room available for the night. I should have checked it out first. 169 for a room barely big enough for the queen bed and (duh) there is a bar downstairs, so it's loud. That's my bad though. The place was buzzing last night. Great food from a well organised kitchen! Despite the large number of patrons the meals kept coming in a timely manner and remained consistent in quality and appearance. My Filet Mignon was superb and my wife's Linguini with seafood was divine, according to her. Great venue. read more
