I spied products from Mount Zero and milk from Jonsey's Dairy. The fit out is great, though the music choice when I was there did nothing to add to the atmosphere. Metal? In the afternoon? In a cafe that has decor reminiscent of an American Diner meets hipster Melbourne Cafe? Very odd indeed. My long black was decent enough. Any bitterness I'd chalk up to the darker style roast of Coffee Supreme, rather than the technique of the barista. It's certainly going to be where I head when I find myself on the way out to the Yarra Valley and in need of a hit. Hopefully next time I'll be here at the right time for breakfast as the menu has some interesting options including fish tacos and pancakes!

Another person tried to the fruit toast - very fresh, tasty and nicely presented. Still another tried the poached eggs and enjoyed them a great deal. I ordered myself the Mediterranean eggs Benedict and my friend had the mushrooms on toast. It was about 45 minutes before the food came out and it was such a disappointment. My food was more tasteless than plain rice. It was supposed to be poached eggs, sitting atop shredded pork shoulder on Turkish bread, topped with jalapeños, coriander and hollondaise sauce. The whole thing was bland and soggy. Hollondaise was too runny and not well seasoned. Eggs overcooked. My pork shoulder was so watery it tasted like boiled pork and sitting atop the Turkish bread just meant the whole thing was soggy. The only flavour I could actually taste was the coriander. My friend who had the mushrooms was also quite unimpressed with her meal. I've added an extra star here because the coffee and ambiance are nice, but I'd recommended just sticking to the coffee and people watching.

The coffee always looks pretty and friends say it is an average coffee. I come here as there is always parking, the food is the same price as Glen Waverley Cafes and on par for quality. The food ranges from muesli - bacon and eggs - smashed ago - burger - pasta which caters for a variety of people I enjoy catching up with. Ever come to a place knowing afterwards you'd go back cause something was spot on even when it was just that one thing?... Well, I'll admit- if you love Breakfast! Love scrambled eggs! Then this cafe will get it right! (If Cafe Victoria is reading this DO NOT FIRE YOUR COOK! he/she makes perfect scrambled eggs!!) I've been to places that make some really bad "scrambled eggs and this may sound like Im making too much a deal on the subject... Trust me, scrambled can be ruined too!! People get poached (like my friend this morning) and some fried, or over easy, hard. Ect.. But staying on the subject of scrambled its mixed and then needs to be constantly stirred then pulled off and away from the pan And on the plate not too dry... And certainly not too wet!!! But a consistency of sheen to ratio of firmness cause it's cooked all the way through!!! So again, perhaps it was the right cook? and it might have been just the right timing that the cook decided? Either way... Got the right person coming back for eggs on toast! ( the toast could have been better but the eggs made up for that)... I'm going back!!! Both for eggs And the sweet service!!!
