During our home inspection, our chimney inspector identified issues with our chimneys. He…read morerecommended a mason, Tony Femia, to help rectify the exterior brick mason work. Here are the pluses: - Tony picks up his phone. He calls you back. He shows up on time. - He is present during the work managing his team. - He communicates throughout and explains what he is doing. Upon working on our chimneys, Femia realized that our interior oil chimney was blocked, as the flues had caved and was blocked by soot. He advised that he was surprised there hadn't been CO poisoning to either the prior owners or us. He contacted our chimney sweep and when he couldn't get in touch with him, he DROVE to his house to advise him of the issue. Needless to say, we survived. Our 2 chimneys were a mess, both inside and outside after 50+ years of neglect. (Side notes: Get your chimney swept every year or two. Be on the lookout for changes in brick colors or moss growth). Tony's team was extremely diligent and hard working. It took a lot of effort to clean up and strengthen our brick chimneys. With an old house, there is always a project. However, having Tony Femia and his team, you know that there is attention to detail and a contractor who is responsive. I'd absolutely use him again and recommend him if you need someone who will do the job right the first time.
