The facility is very clean and well maintained. The hardest part will be waiting for a unit to come up for rent, which speaks volumes about the facility and how the business is run. We went with "bigger is better" and ended up having to run back to Lowe's to exchange for a more sensible lock. I definitely recommend Pioneer Self Storage and would use them again.

The day of pick up, they didn't have her truck. They said they emailed her the day before to move her reservation to a place over an hour away. She was packing all day and wasn't checking email. No phone call. Just an email. This was late FRI afternoon, the other place was closing in 15 min and wasn't open on weekend. No one at the store offered any alternative. She called the U-Haul number and she was transferred multiple times. After a lot of frustration, she broke down in tears from the stress and chaos. Finally someone at UHaul corporate found a truck in Statesville (an hour and a half away). With few choices, we went to get this truck. If you're a parent helping a recent grad get established in moving to their new professional career, save yourself the drama and use PODS. I will never use U-Haul again. They treat customers like garbage.
