The guy at the counter said there was a truck there, but they were holding for a customer that was coming on Tuesday (we were there on Friday!) Why can they hold it for that person, but they didn't hold one for me??? When I ask why this was, they replied "that's just how it is". We had to end up renting a tiny trailer and didn't fit all daughter's furniture. I'll try Enterprise, Pods, or Penske next time. NEVER AGAIN UHAUL!!

No phone call. Just an email. This was late FRI afternoon, the other place was closing in 15 min and wasn't open on weekend. No one at the store offered any alternative. She called the U-Haul number and she was transferred multiple times. After a lot of frustration, she broke down in tears from the stress and chaos. Finally someone at UHaul corporate found a truck in Statesville (an hour and a half away). With few choices, we went to get this truck. If you're a parent helping a recent grad get established in moving to their new professional career, save yourself the drama and use PODS. I will never use U-Haul again. They treat customers like garbage.
