The atmosphere of the Amish people driving horse and buggy, boys in suspenders and straw hats while girls wear their bonnets and traditional dresses, the courtesy the men show, clothing hanging on the clothesline, bare feet, fresh produce - I love it. We stopped by the grocery store to pick up baking supplies for cornbread, rhubarb jam, and butternut squash. Most products sold in the store are packed in bulk. It is such a wonderful experience to be amongst the Amish. Please be respectful.

Plus they gave homemade delights like their brats and sausages. My latest haul included some delicious inch & quarter rib eyes beautifully marbled perfect for a New Year's Eve dinner. Most delicious rib eye steak I've ever had.. better than the 5 star restaurant steakhouses in DC bc the quality of the meat was extremely high. Created a transcending experience. Can't believe we made it ourselves! Picked up sides, ingredients for chocolate mousse, and salad yum! My other favorites include dots pretzels and must try Albia smokehouse beef sticks. She ran it once, my phone alerts me Everytime a charge goes through and it popped up as approved, but she asked for the card back, I said it says approved on my end, and showed her the notification and she was still adamant that it didn't so I gave her my card back. Breaking news: they both went through. Guessing she got her lunch for free that day, she seemed like she knew. I will say: generally I love snack shack, it's a locally owned business and they are generally right on the money with the orders, food isn't Gordon Ramsey quality but it's amazing coming off the lake or after a ball game. The owner even offered me free ice cream to take home when I came through after a close relative passed away, which makes them even more deserving of my business. However I haven't been back since that incident and don't plan to be for a while.
