I discovered this store when driving by and saw a good price on Chuck Roasts on their electronic billboard. We stopped and I bought a bunch of meat to freeze. Very good beef and pork so far. They have a in-store bakery, deli, small produce department, and a good selection of merchandise. Some prices are high, but like I said I come to stock up on sale items. Have been back several times. Friendly and helpful employees.

The guy said sure, come down by 3 and we'll get that to you. I went down at 3 on Tuesday. Bring the papers identifying the gender, I state I'm the father and don't want to know the gender. They said they had no order for me so I would have to place one and I'd get the cake Thursday. Okay. Again I reiterate not to have an identifiers on the outside of the cake. Worried the message wasn't received, I called Wednesday evening to ensure they understood. They couldn't find my order. Finally found it. Said sure thing come in tomorrow, Thursday. I again reiterated to have all plain white cake on the outside. No markers of what the gender is. I go to get the cake today, Thursday. And as the lady brings it out, it has writing stating the sex of our baby with the matching colors as the border. All the exact opposite of what I wanted and ordered. I am extremely frustrated and disheartened that the special moment my wife and I were hoping to share was ruined.

They would look at me strangely and say " really, you want to go to Hy-Vee for breakfast" I would Rave about how good their food actually is for being a grocery store Cafe. I can safely say that not one of my friends ever left disappointed. Great food, great service, friendly atmosphere. Things aren't what they used to be. Even before the rise of prices of eggs for some unknown reason they decided to switch to the eggs you get from a carton. Very fake tasting and never really cooked that good. They went from using real mushrooms in their omelets to the cheap stuff you get in the can. They used to have very delicious sliced potatoes that would taste like heaven, but now you can only get hash browns that are very Bland. In closing, pretty sad when a cafe in a grocery store can't make your omelet with real eggs. Things aren't what they used to be. Still very friendly service.
