Pros: The inside of this hotel is soooo unique and awesome!!! Love the glass elevators, love the waterfall inside, love that it has a coffee shop, bar and restaurant, love that the window to our room looked out into the lobby. It was very clean and the bed was very comfy. Con's: It didn't seem like it had the best AC. The hallways would go from really hot to really cold quickly depending on where you walked. The elevators needed a key card to work and it didn't always recognize my key right away which led to the elevator skipping my floor multiple times. There were no stairs available for use except in emergencies. This was so frustrating!!! There was a conference going on in our hotel so there would be 500 people trying to get on the elevators at once. We tried to take the stairs and were told we couldn't. But if there was an emergency, how would people even know where to go, the stairs weren't clearly marked and there were no emergency maps. Housekeeping came really late, after at least noon and we didn't have a do not disturb sign on the door. All in all, it's a really cool, modern, nice hotel that I would definitely stay in again. read more

I stayed here for 3 days for a wedding. The hotel, staff are beyond wonderful. Bar closes early even on a weekend! By midnight. I would think it's better to be open later perhaps 1 am as we had a big crowd who wanted to continue to enjoy some drinks but bar was closed. Coffee was good, they also close early. Food the Roostr place was decent. Staff were also wonderful while our dining at the restaurant. Management is great, they get you things very quick when needed and are attentive which is great. They were able to bring us fridge and a small crib as we arrived bc it was requested. One comment I have is their parking which I am not a fan it's $2 every hour but if max is $10 so Anytime you leave the Garage and if you bae passed the5 hour mark then it's additional $10 again If you're planning to park overnight. As far as valet is $33 and I had left the car there by one of the attendants, probably 2 hours even though it was suppose to be a Quick in n out of the hotel, he charged me $15 and I wasn't happy about that. This is for a conference location review- not a stay. A good affordable place to host a conference. There is a large ballroom to host larger presentations, with multiple smaller rooms. There are a few issues. The main hotel is very much a part of the central area and this is not separate for conference goers. There aren't enough mid-sized rooms, and nothing is well sign posted. There should be clear electronic boards of what is happening where- there are small lists but it's not very clear. The first day we were all trying to him things down. The other negative was that painting was down in the walk-ways of the conference passages. Why not wait until the conference is over? I'm sure the traffic would be less then. The staff didn't know where anything was. I know it's not there job but perhaps have a liaison? Overall a decent hotel and good for a small conference, not a larger one. read more

As of the time of this review a reservation for 4 days averages $300 a night. Whoever gets suckered into that should be appalled by the condition of their bathrooms. Walls that seemed to be painted over year after year and vents that seem to be cracking open. Now if you don't mind paying the aforementioned amount and the roach motel vibes don't get under your skin then this place is for you. When I reserved our rooms, I requested for outside views instead of an atrium view. What I got was a parking garage view unless if I glazed off way to the right. The rooms definitely need attention and will probably make the majority of patrons angry with the already mentioned problems. I don't care about peeling paint but I do worry about black mold. On the plus side though, the beds are comfortable and they switch out pillows each day they come to your room. They also wipe down the bathroom so that's a big plus. The lobby is quiet and inviting. You can actually get work done here with the sound of the fountains going on in the background. Whatever you do, do not go to the Starbucks connected to the 2nd floor of the lobby. Find the next closest spot because they are slow and pessimistic. Expect to wait about 10-15 minutes for your drink no matter what you order. Overall, the stay was good. I had points piled up for when COVID started so this stay was free. The comfortable beds/pillows made for the 3-star experience. If I hadn't went to the bar that fateful night it might have been bumped up to a 4-star experience. If the rooms were dropped to about $85-$95 a night then I'd say it's worth the stay. Otherwise check out all the Marriott brands on Main St. and you'll come off in a much better experience and lighter on the wallet. read more

Stayed here for our anniversary. Good location within walking distance of lots of restaurants and bars and also the Falls. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was good size with hot shower! Pillows come in a couple of different varieties so you should find one that works for you. The TV was huge but very limited in actual viewing options. There is a Starbucks right on the premises. Valet parking closes at 1am and does not reopen until 6 so if you're like us and plan to hit the road at 5am make sure to let valet know to leave your keys at the front desk. My husband told them it was our anniversary and they upgraded our room and sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. The service was great. The only reason I am not giving a higher rating is that this location needs some updating in the vibe. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a weekend and it was a really good experience. The check in staff was really kind and helpful and we found all the rooms and common areas very clean and inviting. Our room was on the 6th floor and we could not hear any noise from the street or from neighboring rooms. The parking lot is very convenient and right next to the hotel connected with a walkway, bonus points for having a a free electric charger. The charger does have a time limit including weekends, so make sure to time your stay! The location is excellent and very central to all the sights and restaurants . read more

I like the Hyatt chain in general so I was happy to learn I'd be spending a weekend there for a soccer tournament. The hotels in general have large rooms and comfortable beds and this Hyatt didn't disappoint. Located right in the middle of downtown, the Hyatt was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The lobby was multi-leveled, with a large bar and full service Starbucks as well as an on site restaurant. The check in was easy and I was greeted as a Hyatt member, which was a nice plus. There's a parking garage adjacent to the hotel and parking is free with your key card. The room was spacious with plenty of hangers. This is a idiosyncrasy of mine but I appreciated the tile flooring. The rug between the two queen beds had seen better days and was stained. The rest of the room was clean and the bathroom was clean minus a missed toothpaste mark on the front of sink. The room had a coffee maker and a wine fridge but not a mini-fridge (odd). No room microwave but the hallway had one by the ice machine (didn't work). There was also a gym but I didn't check it out, preferring instead to go run the Falls River park area and the Swamp Rabbit trail (amazing). Bedding was clean and comfortable, bath towels were on the small size, but clean. The bar was okay- the bartender wasn't that attentive to his patrons. We almost left and went elsewhere but were finally served. This is a great location, clean, and well appointed. It was fun to people watch the office Christmas parties from my room window into the lobby (rooms faced lobby). read more

I've never stayed at the Hyatt, but I have dined at the Roost, been to dance competitions and parties there. A nice place to visit during the holiday season is the Hyatt Regency Festival of Trees. They have several trees decorated and donated by local businesses and schools. The hardest part of an outing to see the trees might be finding a place to park. Try the parking at Richardson's it was free the night I visited, I think it's free all the time, if I'm wrong I stand corrected. It seemed like the message wasn't clearly received. We had to ask for the champagne and there wasn't anything special like a note or a rose or anything that top of the line hotels usually do even when just mentioning an exciting event without purchasing anything extra. We literally had to ask about our parking being paid for as well as our breakfast.. as if they would have made double the money if we didn't ask. I just think they could do better. Hotel room was overpriced. Front desk staff was rude at check in regarding basic questions. Was unable to sleep properly both nights of a two night stay. First night the nightstands alarm clocks were never reset from a previous guest that left them on for 3 am. Second morning, was bothered for hours by a knocking sound that went on nonstop for 4 hours before I got fed up and checked out of the room. No one could identify it. Best guess was it was the pipping in the walls or construction somewhere. But it was similar to water torture for 4 hours. Hotel room was nice. I'm really not happy about posting this 3-star review because the Hyatt Regency has been in Greenville for so long and it's such an icon. But I feel a need to mention a few of the good and bad during my recent two night stay. 1st of all our room was not ready when we arrived after 4:00 pm. We had to wait a good 30 minutes to check-in. Once checked-in all was good, the room was clean and cool. Later that night, however, when we tried to sleep, we could not stand the noise of the air conditioning unit. It was so bad I had to turn it off, but it still made noise. It was literally a nightmare. We had the same experience in the 2nd room, we were given. The noise from the air conditioning unit was so loud that we had another hot and sleepless night. One other warning, at checkout we were charged for water bottles that we did not drink. But, like I said there were some good things like the cleanliness of our rooms, the nice staff, good work-out room, the lovely lobby and great downtown location. Unfortunately, a good night sleep is needed for me to enjoy everything else this Hyatt has to offer. read more

This hotel is fucking garbage. It just looks nice, that's it. The rooms don't include a microwave or a fridge for me to probably store my food or heat it up, forcing me to always throw it away. I cant even open the windows for fresh air so the room always smells. Poor ventilation. The customer service/front desk is run by slow careless idiots. Sometimes when I arrive late after a long day of flying and want to check in, no one is there and I have to wait 15 to 20 minutes just for someone to show up. There is no desk bell for me to ring to notify them that I am on site. The roost restaurant connected to the hotel has a small limited overpriced menu. Breakfast is very limited and more than once i was charged for buffet full price when i just wanted to get a small item. (A small cup of yogurt for $22 dollars?!??? Really???!!) The logic behind this is asinine. Then again, I'm not that surprised because everyone who works here are idiots. Housekeeping is inconsiderate. Even when I have a tag in front of my door saying "do not disturb" sometimes they will still walk in. Every single morning around 5 AM or so they are making noise when cleaning, causing me to wake up. Unprofessional. The only redeeming factor about this hotel is that it looks nice on the inside, that's it. I would much rather stay at the Holiday Inn or Springhill suites. This Hyatt is a fucking joke. I've stayed here six times for work coming from the West Coast, and all I can say is I am extremely frustrated and disappointed. I don't ever want to return here ever again. I heavily advise to stay at another hotel and not this one. It's not worth it. read more

With the price tag of $300 per night I thought our night away from home would be the best. Unfortunately what we ended up getting was an extremely hard bed, our bed sheets had spots on them, the toilet wasn't working probably and our AC definitely wasn't as cold as it was saying it should have been in the room, my husband even found a booger on the wall in the bathroom ‍ . I know this last part I'm about to mention the hotel has no control over but I was also woken up very early to a screaming baby. I don't even have the words to describe how awful this hotel stay was. I was put on the 8th floor, where the AC was out ENTIRELY. The hotel staff failed to mention this and when I brought it up they refused to do anything about it. And while the lobby was nice, it was entirely misleading as the 8th floor hallways were SO dirty, cramped, and dark. I could barely see my own hand in front of my face. My bathroom door was broken. I took a shower and when I went to unlock the door realized I was locked inside. I had to wait 45 minutes on maintenance to come get me out. I had asked for a fridge in advance that they failed to put in my room. I had to call FIVE times before they finally brought me one. However, the one they brought was broken and froze my food. When I asked for a box fan as my room was 85 degrees, the front desk told me they didn't have any. Lies. The maintenance man happened to be passing by and when I inquired of him he was able to bring me one. The room was SO tiny. Entirely too tiny for the amount I was charged. The staff are RUDE and entirely unhelpful. They don't answer the phone. Don't even get me started on the attitude you receive from valet. You can forget doordashing anything to this place. All in all, I would give them zero stars if I could. To be honest, if you told me I had to stay here again I would probably lay in the floor like a toddler and cry. read more

I do not recommend using there Valet service. I work near the Greenville Hyatt, on June 7th one of the valet drivers hit my car head on. The police came gave the driver a ticket and added the owner of the car insurance information. Because the owner was not driving her insurance company will not cover damages. I have called emailed and text for over a month and have not heard anything from them. Lanier is the company they use. I've even emailed the vice president. At 1st she responded saying she will look into the situation. I have yet to hear from anyone about filing a claim. My insurance company says they have no way of finding out what insurance company Lanier uses. This has become very stressful and my only other option is to get a lawyer but the cost to do that would be more than the damages read more

I stayed here during my last trip to Greenville. I often stay at The Westin down the road but, Hyatt is definitely on my radar now. With everything going on downtown, they both have great locations and Hyatt is right around the corner from my favorite coffee spot Methodical. I'll have to stay there a couple more times to truly get a feel for the place, but the offerings and amenities are, dare I say, better than the Westin. The staff was very helpful when I had car trouble and arrived super late. They even, gave me a run down of all my food options at that hour. I had a couple drinks at the Opal bar in the middle and was pretty impressed with the cocktails. The whole place is very spacious and I felt very comfortable coming and going throughout my stay. I will say the computers for printing had screens that read "fatal error...system halted" so my ability to print hit a snag. My husband and I just got married and our parents paid for two nights at this hotel, and the staff messed up the payments and then wanted us to fix it essentially. She also ignorantly said that we and one of our parents could not afford to pay the whole bill, which was not the case. We could've paid for it easily but it was the principle of them fixing their own mistakes instead of having the customer fix the problem. The hotel seems understaffed and the room is kind of dirty. There was a hair in the bed at arrival and the toilet and mirror were not cleaned beforehand as well. I would recommend asking for housekeeping during your stay. The location is great with this hotel and the view is pretty, which is why i'm giving 2 stars. read more

The Panorama Suite is not worth the price point and is surprisingly underwhelming for being a suite. Expected an exceptional experience and all I got was square footage. Amenities were the same as any other room, but worse. Why is there a toothbrush in the bathroom with no toothpaste? There were no water bottles available (for purchase or complimentary). The coffee area had 6 decaf coffee pods and 2 regular pods. Who puts only 2 pods of regular coffee? All the drawers were filthy with dust, debris, coffee grounds, and/or bugs (dead and alive). There was hair on the wall in the shower and in the tub. A hair was located on the bottom of the toilet as well. Of all places, there was a random clump of hair on the living area table accompanied by a piece of dried out bread underneath. The couch could have used accent pillows for comfort and visual aesthetic, but that's the least of our worries. Underneath and behind the couch was abysmal. There was food, trash, and a healthy coat of dust underneath the couch. Behind the couch (between couch and window) there was a pile of what looked like popcorn kernels. The pull-out bed was nothing but a mattress sans any sheets or blankets. The provided bag for additional bedding only contained a single pillow. If we were to use the pull-out bed we would have had to request additional bedding that should have already been made available in the additional bedding bag. Lastly, the vents and air filters are not cleaned as part of regular cleaning. The dust on the intake vent has been there a while. If COVID-19 particles can collect and dispurse through dust, all the guests staying in 502 are bound to contract the virus. The main lobby and event space was just fine. Nothing bad stood out. Guests should certainly host an event here, but do not let your event participants stay here. Rooms are horrible. I'm not one to laundry list complaints, but this suite was so disappointing that it was a waste of money. Guests beware! It was insulting that my concerns were handled by the front desk with a food and beverage credit. There was not a problem with food and beverage. There was a problem with room operations and housekeeping. This experience alone has removed me from being a guest for life at any Hyatt property. Will only return to the Hyatt Regency, Greenville to attend events. read more

This a grand hotel, right on the cool Main Street area in downtown Greenville! After being a guest here on business, I thought the service was almost always better than the usual. Almost all of the employees spoke to me in a friendly way. My room was carefully cleaned, the laundry service was pricy but great. Just out the door is Main Street where there are zillions of restaurants and shops within walking distance. The restaurant is fine, service is great. Whatever you do, consider having breakfast there. I was very impressed. I also thought the bar was very good, they made my margarita just the way I like it! I may just move in! The free airport shuttle is great. The amazing and beautiful Falls area is about 5 blocks down the street and should not be missed. The Falls also include the spectacular 17 mile Swamp Rabbit walking trail, you can even rent a bicycle downtown if you want. The flower gardens near the falls and throughout the park are very cool. Things are a little expensive at the hotel, so that would be the only negative. But because you have so many options nearby, it's easy to find what you need just steps away on Main Street. If your in-room coffee is important to you, I suggest packing your own sweetener and creamer. read more

If I could give them 0 star, I would. They have a parking garage with minimal signs: one right as you enter from busy traffic (aka priority is not stopping to read a small sign) and another sign in the rafters hidden behind a sign that says 'park' These signs say 'no backing into parking spaces' then they run around ticketing you if you do. The ticket is for $0 but says if you don't pay $0 in 30 days a fine will increase. Then they will take legal action and even send it to collection. Then the hotel when they talk to you about the garage and parking at no point do they do the human thing and say 'oh just a warning, because we aren't A-holes, make sure you don't back into the spots' Of course when you go online to pay the $0, that threatens legal action and fine increases, there is no technical way to pay $0, and no form of submitting acknowledgement of me accepting. So literally they are wasting paper, wasting time, and paying a human to write these tickets! Ridiculous! Ironically, as I pulled out to turn my car around, some guy stepped out and almost got hit, had I been backing out of the spot, I might not have seen him! This is a bad rule, if it's the hotels, they need to change it, If it's not, they need to verbally warn people parking in the spot and the city needs to change the rule! read more

Note: Self Parking is WAY cheaper than Valet. Valet I think is 20ish bucks overnight. Self Parking is like 7 bucks. It blew my mind when I saw people using Valet... Note 2: When Self Parking, let your front desk know you are and they'll give you a Parking Card (so that you don't pay as you drive in and out). Very helpful and useful. The inside of the Hyatt is very pretty! Probably one of the nicest Hyatt's I've seen. There's a Starbucks inside as well as... Rooster (?)- a restaurant. Room: The setting was very weird. The TV was on the side. Bed faced the window view. Under the window view is a couch. I say weird because usually the bed faces the TV. The Bed was super comfy. I slept like a baby. Plenty of desk space in general for the room. The bathroom was normal sized. The only thing I was kind of meh about-- they barely gave me a late check out. I had to run a Half the morning of check out and I wasn't sure when I'd finish. Originally they only gave me 30 minutes... I had to really state my reason to get an extra hour. read more

Checking in we had the hardest times finding where to park. Once we figured out that (there's a public parking lot for 7ish or valet fir 20ish per day) we valeted the car, unloaded and checked in. I reserved with a buy two nights get third free and knew with losing the free breakfast it all was going to end up the same cost. The hotel is basically shut down. No bar. No room service. There's a restaurant attached to the hotel you can get takeout instead of room service. I ended up grabbing takeout the first night. Salads w meat. Chips w queso. (Oops) Second night I had it covered but we needed breakfast. Their breakfast was sorta five options or ala carts. We did breakfast two mornings. Pretty cheap $20-$25 for two people. My scrambled eggs were more than two eggs. I couldn't finish them. I'm good for two eggs with 1/2 avo. So it's a deal. Ok back to stars. Cleanliness if you follow my reviews you know we microban our room before unloading. The small towel was gross. They don't really clean which is ironic considering I am FORCED to let housekeeping our room to sanitize the room after day two. So on day three I'll be crazy waiting for her. She can come on but I'm gonna record her. I never want housekeeping in our room. EVER. I don't have a maid so I don't need a maid. After she leaves I'm going to have to microban the room. Her being in my room creates germs. Why on earth would you force housekeeping in after two day? Do it after they leave!! read more

Decent Hyatt hotel with some upgrades since it was built This is very much your typical conference room hotel with tons of confidence room space, a full Starbucks in the hotel, a restaurant and bar and shops. At check-in a group of 50 were checking in at the same time which was a bit inconvenient but went shockingly fast. Hotel Folio was not provided at the door which is a little frustrating but not that big of a deal. The hotel is located on Main Street in Greenville which is a really good downtown and waking distance to everything. The hotel is very well located. I would stay again. read more
