This publication is for the 'self-proclaimed' jet set, the globally aware and the aesthetically obsessed, but having said that, I stockpile the issue and indulge myself on the luxurious world of 'how to spend it' and how our global leaders are styling their ethnic hair. There are very few places I can go when I am ever-so curious about pirating off the coast of Somalia and rather a blow by blow, I can find a glossy of Danish Naval officers with shorts and chiselled jaws - tackling modern sea-banditry (tongue in cheek). Truthfully, it is quirky, well - produced and if it came with the lifestyle and the first-class pyjamas I would subscribe but for now I'll pick it up irregularly in an airport.

When Wallpaper first hit the newsstands it was an immediate hit. There wasn't anything like it. It was a combination of style, design, travel, art and architecture all wrapped up in one uber-unique large format magazine that actually catered to the masses. Everything about the book oozed style and it was a hit. Brule was an instant celebrity and the magazine helped redefine international style. Brule left and focused on his branding/design firm. He redesigned the look of Swiss International Airlines among other high profile projects and wrote about his endless long haul journeys around the world for what was - and remains - a 'must-read' column in the weekend Financial Times. But two years ago the magazine business was too much for Brule to resist and he once again reinvented it with the publication of Monocle. Published monthly in London but available almost everywhere, Monocle is unlike any magazine on the newsstands today. It's not cheap: $10 an issue but it is like a drug for me and many others style, travel, world affairs obsessed 'jetrosexuals'. It's a little bit of everything and everything they do is exceedingly well done. Monocle has its detractors and so does Brule. His weekly podcast is a unique insight into his view of the world which is more from the Centurion Amex pov than anywhere else. But for jetsetters and jetsetter-wannabes, this is the monthly must-read.

I've attended several courses here and have found it well organised. They run courses on charity…read morefunding and management, public speaking, networking, health and safety, and so much more besides. The building is pleasant and the training rooms comfortable. Buffet lunches, coffee and tea are usually provided at all-day courses. This organisation is an extremely valuable resource for charities and not-for-profit sector. It also has an excellent library facility of relevant publications. It's quite close to Euston Station.

LOVE this place!…read more I've been on two fundraising courses here and both have been fantastic. Great venue with very knowledgeable trainers. Both courses were really interactive and fun- I highly recommend the DSC if you work in the voluntary or charitable sector. They also have a library where they sell all their books, which are reasonably priced and VERY useful. I'm taking off one star for the food. Lunch and snacks are always included and they give you plenty and it's decent, but the sandwiches are always room temperature and I don't like that. Nothing tastes fresh, which freaks me out a tiny bit. Otherwise, this place is perfecto!

It is aimed at London's urbanites and is a great way of catching up on the capitals gossip on your way home from work. There are some great features like 'Get it off your txt' and 'Message boards,' where people can email and text in with their views. London Lite is specifically made to be read cover to cover in under 30mins. It is trying to be the perfect commuter tool. It certainly beats staring into someone's armpit on a packed tube.

Do check out the Bird's Eye feature on here. It is different from a map or a satalite view as it is taken at a closer range and an angle which allows you to see people like ants on the ground, cars, some singage, waves in the sea and so much more. Oh and before you go somewhere...don't forget to print off some directions! There are directions for walking, driving that recognise postcodes, street names and even a business locater on the website. Again, it is free to print off this information.

The books are all small in terms of dimensions (making them great to carry around when exploring), but quite substantial in terms of the contents and number of photos. My very favorites are the walking guides - and also "London's Parks and Gardens", "London's Cemeteries" & "London's Monuments" (London is absolutely the greatest city for its profusion of beautiful statuary). Some of Metro's books have been updated and expanded, which is great for those of us who can't get enough of London.

In addition it also features opinion pieces, political and social discussion, economic activity as well as various poems dotted throughout the magazine. A favourite amongst academics and the public, the London Review of Books provides some incredibly refreshing insights coupled with an excellent writing standard. Alan Bennett has called it, 'the liveliest, the most serious and also the most radical literary magazine we have.' I have been a subscriber to the London Review of Books for a couple of months and I am constantly amazed by the depth of research and the quality of writing that is poured into each publication. Each reslease provides you with provocative pieces that really make you sit up and pay attention. The best part of the London Review of Books is its ruthless analysis and criticism, there is no safe ground, no view that cannot be challenged and this is an important quality in a world that has almost given up caring.
