If you can get over to the local market (Les Halles), that's where you'll find amazing meats and cheese and chocolates (all a bit pricey), but Carrefour is quick and convenient. Bring or purchase bags to carry your stuff in. And remember ... eggs aren't in the refrigerated cases here. They've also got a decent selection of beer.
