This hotel is as close to the front gate of Versaillis as is topographically possible to be. No parking or unloading zone, mind you but REALLY close.
Elegance, and this place has it, is often inconvenient. To accommodate fire regulations, we had to pass through three fire-doors on our journeys to and from our room.
The remodeled bathroom could not find a place for the TP that would not A) get wet (from the curtain-less shower), B) prevent easy access to the throne, and -- most importantly -- C) be within reach.
It involved teamwork.
The room itself was functional and had the loudest wallpaper in Western Europe: red and yellow, up to a very high ceiling. We did not specifically ask for air conditioning, so we did not get it. We assumed that if the hotel "had" A/C, every room would have it. Not so much.
