We stayed in the main building which offered an antique feel with some modern amenities like the remodeled bathrooms. There were three different buildings you could stay at: the Château, the Porterie and the Tower. The room was beautiful with all of the furniture complementing the ambiance. It made it easier to imagine old times in the castle, it was like taking a glimpse into the past. As you stared out the massive window you could see the property grounds which include a tennis court, outdoor pool, and even a helicopter pad (if you wanted to make a spectacular entrance). It could be so easy to come here and disconnect from the world. They help you do that by only offering WiFi in the reception area. To start the day they have a breakfast available on the main level of the Château. I'm not sure if this is included or not with your stay because I came here as part of a Topdeck tour and it was included for us. This was one of the most unique accommodations during my two weeks in France. I would love to come back and stay longer in this type of hotel simply to indulge in the history of France.

Too loud in the streets to have the windows open. We probably wouldn't have booked it in the busy part of town if it hadn't advertised A/C. Other than that, it's in a great location, that's probably the best part, walking distance to everything. The overall experience is a bit more basic than a traveler from the U.S. might expect, but maybe fairly standard for a mid range European hotel. The toilet paper was like grade school art class paper towel. No Kleenex to be found in the room. Towels were thin, soap bottles are locked down to make sure you don't steal them, shower head holder was loose and wouldn't stay up. Breakfast had a surprisingly good spread of food given the other places they seemed to be cutting costs. It'll get the job done if you need a hotel, especially if you enjoy being in the center of town, but be prepared to not get all you're paying for re: features, and you'd probably be better off trying something else, even a little further out, it's all very walkable around here.

One night we grabbed food at a nearby supermarket - wine, cheese, meats, etc - and we ate out in front of the chateau. What a beautiful way to end the night! The night was cool but not cold and the moon was almost full with no clouds in sight. Laurent is an amazingly warm, gracious, charming, welcoming host who makes you feel like you are an old friend who has just returned home. He made our stay an absolute pleasure. Nothing was too hard for him. 2. The food. All home made by the chef. Freshly made croissants every morning were amazing. Dinner was a feast. 3. The location and hotel were charming and well placed to travel around the Loire. Roaring log fires and comfy chairs certainly help. Would happily stay here again and again and again.
