But there are so many other negative points that it prevented me to enjoy my stay at this hotel. First the rooms are really outdated. They show many signs of wears and tears, beds are noisy and uncomfortable, bathroom is very basic and the tile contains mold! (see picture). Also, there is no A/C in the room. Service is fine but nothing exceptional. Note that they charge 17€/day for gated parking but space is limited and when I came back from dinner at 9:30 pm and couldn't park because lot was full the clerk told me that it was "surprising" as there is "normally" space and recommended me to park in a public parking nearby. Overall this hotel really feels like a 3* hotel, definitively not a 4*.

I had not been there for some 8 years, but it remained familiar in aspect, though the other parts of Tony Lestienne's empire have grown significantly. Expected it to be full with lots of holiday makers, but it was almost empty perhaps because the weather was solid rain. And suspect they also were prepared for quiet, there did not seem to be a lot of staff about. So lunch got off a bit slowly, but soon got up to speed. I think we had a little difficulty as we needed to warm up our French. We chose the Menu Degustation as it was just what I had in mind with a strength in fish but not exclusively fish. Foie Gras, Cassolet Homard, Turbot, Lamb, Fromages, Puddings. The mises en bouche were very tasty and imaginative, the Foie Gras attrative and splendid, the Homard lost in it's 'soup' (but the soup did bring the Rolly Grassman Gewertz out wonderfully) though the soup was that wholly correct dark boulibasse you get sometimes. We went on to a minor red Auxey Duresses. The Turbot had a splendid idea of blending two dressings without a divder from one at one end of the fish to the other at the other and was very good, I was somehow less impressed with the fish itself, perhaps it is that translucent thing again. The lamb I requested not pink and that is how it arrived, and it was very good though I suspect they disdained. The cheeses were top class including a local 'new discovery'. The puds were outstanding, particularly a bowl of liquid chocolate and red fruits. We finished with a very traditional and slightly earthy Beaumes de Venise - the sommelier not understanding that we wanted to choose, but it was good just the same. Mignardises were also very good. Yup, when ever I can I'll be back.

The restaurant is located inside a small unassuming hotel of the same name. Rooms are pleasant, nicely decorated, have crisp sheets and some have( obstructed) views of the channel. If you are in the area and would like a very pleasant meal this establishment should do the trick. Although not cheap, you get a lot for your money, including a bit of style and charm.

The location of the hotel is prime for a nice park across the way, an ice rink in the winter and some nice shopping and art galleries. The hotel is big and full of helpful staff. The pool is nice but well used and often busy. Cozy waiting area and lounge. Clean large well renovated rooms.

Room was clean, the shower was good and powerful (badly needed after striking camp in rather wet conditions in Samer) TV was HD. Breakfast is served in the Lobby, basic but good value at EUR8.50. Rack rate for a double EUR64-69 but if you book on line as we did, budget rate was EUR39. Last time we were there we were highly entertained by Victor the Mynah Bird, who had a great repertoire in English and French, sadly he is now an ex-Mynah Bird. Bike accommodation in the cellar is a bit awkward but beats locking them up outside. WiFi is available for free in the lobby area, allegedly throughout the whole hotel but the signal didn't reach the 4th floor. Rooms at the back are quiet.

La Ferme du Vert is a beautiful farm in a very quiet part of France. It's a gourmet restaurant,…read moresmall hotel and a cheese factory (and mainly a cheese factory for the purpose of my visit)! We were sent here by the owner of Chateau de la Marine as its where he buys his cheese, and it was a fantastic recommendation! Although factory tours aren't allowed they do sell their cheeses to the public and all the ones I had were very good, especially a particularly stinky one that has an orange coating :) It's the sort of place you visit for one reason and immediately want to return to so you can try everything else! I expect in due course I'll return here and stay for a weekend, and try the restaurant :)

The restaurant is also an excellent choice for dinner but I did feel a bit short changed for breakfast, not because it was particularly bad, it's just they it didn't live up to everything else about the place :) It's the perfect place for a short romantic getaway, especially if you have a car, as the nearby seaside towns of Boulogne-sur-Mer and Wimereaux have a lot to offer! I'd happily stay here again!

The hotel has the flavor of a BnB but more rooms. The breakfast was amazing. So much to choose from: pastries, boiled egg, yogurt, fruit, delicious cheeses and salty meats, cereal, juice, tea and coffee. The staff are lovely and some speak only French and others speak both French and some English. The town has many restaurants within walking distance but make reservations for them if you will be there during a busy time (we were there on a bank holiday week). In the evening, they have a lovely quiet bar with wine, beer and cocktails. No meals but they do have cheese and charcuterie boards you can order to snack on. I would most DEFINITELY come back.
