It is a cozy old school place smack dab in the middle of the town. Amazing breakfast buffet with great breads, meats, cheese, tarts, and fruits. If you're missing anything, call the reception desk and ask. FYI, bring shampoo. The group that I came with planned on staying there the evening when they served "tartiflette", salad, cold cuts, apple tart, apple juice, and wine. This isn't an everyday thing, but it was all you can eat and drink. Nice service with a smile in a beautiful place in the mountains.

And many restaurants and bars are all just a couple of minutes away walking. The Staff are all very friendly, several must be family members. They have a great locked ski room, with heaters for your boots and bench's to sit on to put on your boots. Breakfast is included like most hotels, but they may have the best! Rooms can be warm at night but the balcony doors can be positioned to let cool air in at night by turning the handle up and the top of the door will open.

We had a family suite, which had an area with a king size bed, a separated area with a bunk bed for the kids, toilet in a separated room and ample bathroom with bath tube. It was perfect for us, very spacious and comfortable. On the roof top there was a spa, with a couple of saunas, a heated pool, jacuzzi and beautiful view of the city and the alps. We got here a bit early on the check in day, but there were able to take take of our luggage while we perused the city. Cant complain and would stay here again

The second morning all I heard was banging which I assumed was the two other rooms where our doors are all inches apart. I finally turned and a large man was standing at my bedside. I was so terrified I screamed out. The man left the room and the cleaning woman stood apologizing, her English being very poor. I called downstairs and spoke to Ali the manager. Calmly I tried to explain what had happened. He told me he was aware and gave several excuses. 1. The sign to not disturb wasn't on the door. Not true. 2. I didn't lock the door. Untrue. That's why they brought the maintenance man in to open the door. 3. They were worried about me. Not true. It was 9 am and I had neither been drinking or making any kind of noise the previous night or ever. What shocked me most was they could not accept how frightening this could be for a woman alone. I was asked by the manager Ali --"May I ask, why are you so upset? I was trying to stress that the man should never enter the room first and alone. To which I was told "you're a strong woman, why are you frightened?" It felt surreal. The assistant Dylan also lacked any sense of empathy or ownership. I was told "ok, this is over now, you are safe, no need to worry." And got up and walked away. I spoke with the travel agent who contacted the hotel and was told "the issue was resolved" They said it was resolved and so then the issue was resolved. It was not resolved for me. The hotel bed was insanely hard. I used the bed cover on top of the mattress to soften it and make it sleepable. Never, under any circumstances would I recommend this hotel. I had to give it one star as mandated by YELP

This is likely a result of the clientèle they regularly serve. The United Nations offices, Red Cross and WHO are very close by, so there are large numbers of dignitaries staying in the hotel on a regular basis. This also means a very secure environment that caters to people of varying nationalities. The TV channel selection, for example, reflects this. Be sure to visit the hallway with photos of some of the well-known people who've stayed at the hotel, which was first opened in 1964. We certainly had one of the lower end rooms, facing west toward some local housing (and a co-op) vs. overlooking Lake Geneva in the distance. Incidentally, the co-op has some decent ready-to-eat food selections... so if you don't want a sit-down meal, it might be a good place to visit. Other than the hotel restaurant, there are only a few good places to eat within easy walking distance of the hotel. Our room was spacious by European standards, and there was beautiful lighting, extra seating, and desk space. A room safe and minibar are part of the package. The king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed, with an expansive deep bathtub and wonderful large bath towels. The toiletries were a rather exclusive brand and had a great unisex scent. We only had breakfast in the restaurant, but it, too, was outstanding. Both buffet and menu selections were available. Servers were competent and sincerely nice. We especially enjoyed our interactions with Sarah. The hostess was wonderful as well. This hotel had many amenities that we didn't use, like a pool and sauna. Be sure to look these up ahead of time so you bring what you need.

There's a beautiful Zen garden common area located right outside where small bites and cocktails are served. We had a lovely experience chilling there before heading out for a boat ride on Lake Geneva. The only reason I did not give this property 5s is because from the walk to the hotel from the nearby train station we traveled via some seedy streets. We have found an alternate path for our return to the train station, so my advice is be alert and careful.
