Five stars for this amazing boutique hotel with wonderful staff in a great location…read more To give some context, I'm an American who has traveled to many countries but my time in France has been limited (24 hours in Paris) and I prob should disclose I'm a low-key francophile. To start, the location is adjacent to the city center/town square which has tons of shops, restaurants, hotels, and felt safe to walk around (even as a woman late at night!) While the hotel is old, the bathroom is gorgeous and had the PERFECT amount of counter space. The bed was comfortable and while the room I stayed in (cheapest available) wasn't gigantic, it had a desk to work from and allowed me to open the windows to get fresh air. I loved the decor but I also prefer vintage style over modern looks. The wifi was great and I fell in love with the soap products (sold only in France, sob). The staff (Alexandre, Laura, and others) were all extremely friendly with my random inquiries (iron, things to do, etc) and spoke English (while not making fun of my very poor french). I chose to take the stairs to walk off my daily wine, however this might not be great for someone who isn't able to get up stairs easily (there aren't many floors, fortunately). Their elevator is quite small so something else to consider (for accessibility and packing!) If you're interested in fine dining and checking off Michelin starred restaurants, you're as close as you can get to the only one in Toulouse. Sadly, I did not get a chance to try anything from their kitchen or see anything beyond their lobby. If you're looking for a pool, sauna, gym then you might want to look elsewhere. If you're looking for a spot with a local feel and great service, this is definitely for you. Personally, I can't wait to come back.

Parking is difficult and you'll have to use the underground car park nearby, not cheap at 19 EU a day - staff will direct you. We went for the Executive room which gave more space and a sofa bed for the kids - would definitely go for this room again. 4 stars as clean, reasonably priced and a pretty stylish place to stay.... Novotel: can they be beaten for quality/value?

Is one of the new hotels offering some for TLS not standard features within this price class: - good gym - sauna - steam bath - hot tub The Novotel is located very Central-/downtown at Place Du Capitole. Area offers a wide variety of nice bars and restaurants. Parking is not offered and a parking facility around the corner for 19€/24h can be used. Rooms are clean and equipped with a good bed + international TV. Staff is nice. Hotel Bar and Restaurant is available. Breakfeast is offering an average selection with drinks included. My favourite choice (together with the Grand Balcon Hotel ;) ).

TIp: when you get to the Town Square area find the telecom and push the button so the Police can drop down the barriers so you can go through. It took me forever to figure that out! The hotel is conveniently located in the downtown area. I didn't need to drive which was great, I just left the car at the hotel and walked around. Pretty much close to everything, muesums, restaurants, cafes, etc. The room had both US and European voltage outlets. You don't need an adapter if you forgot it.

With a backpack and one carry-on luggage there was plenty of room to spare. As a grad student the rate is a little hefty (just over 100 euros a night for the room and breakfast). But one of the benefits of being a grad student: conference covered costs, whatup!

My husband saw a shadow so knocked on the window and the lady finally opened the door. She said she the phones or bell weren't ringing.
