I took part in a "get to know your DSLR" course today being a keen photographer but really not knowing how to get the best out of my camera. The course was six hours, including an hours break for lunch and an opportunity to test out what we had learnt. The course was very informative and the teacher, Matt, was particularly patient, with a large group of 13 people all struggling to work out the functions on their various cameras. We covered subjects such as aperture, shutter speed, white balance and metering and I feel I have come away with a much better knowledge, although I will need to get out there and practice my new-found skills before I forget them!
