**June 2022: Late Afternoon Friday Visit**…read more My friend and I were walking down Monmouth St. and I was enamored by the beautiful window display. The jewelry were bright and bold and evoke such Betsey Johnson vibes except with an emphasis on acrylic as their creative medium. We entered the store and oh my goodness everything was so eye catching - both in terms of designs as well as color palette. If you're a gal (or guy) who loves subdue understated jewelry this isn't the shop for you, as everything is extremely playful and witty. There were multiple items I wanted to purchase; however, the pricepoint is much higher than what I am use to; yet, you can think of it as paying for the design, and the fact that it's handmade by UK individuals. The smaller designs range in the £50 - £150 whereas the really stunning statement pieces around £200-£400. The extremely orange pieces can go up to £500+ I ended up getting a really beautiful blue parrot statement necklace that I'm sure would be a head turner. The quality ranges from good to amazing and the prices are from reasonable to fairly expensive. But it is all very unique jewelry, some classically beautiful to some very avant-garde to some, perhaps unwearable? Materials range from recycled items to precious stones. The displays are separated by artist. It is a small shop, but there is so much inside that I was there looking for quite a while. The woman working there was pleasant and helpful.

The only bracelet that has been bought for me that has ever fit. So when it broke, I had to have it mended. It holds a lot of sentimental value to me. So I took it to them, based on a good review on another site. And yep, their expensive. But i'll pay for quality. I don't mind. So dropped it off to be fixed. Took them ages! 2.5 months to fix this bracelet. But that's not my complaint. My complaint is that the bracelet came back to me 2 sizes to big. I have no idea when they made it so much larger. I quuestioned that when I picked it up, but they said "it's written down here as the origional size". Can't argue with that, but unless I gone anorexic, and lost weight in my wrist, or they messed up! Needless to say... due to my now large bracelet, 4 days later if fell off my wrist and broke. ARG!

It is no H Samuel store, more of a store that have been around for many years. Inside the store you will find two older guys doing the works and selling as they go along. Whilst I was there I saw a lot of people coming into the store to get their watches repaired so I get the impression that they repair more than what they sell. The staff members were very helpful and friendly which is a real plus these days. They can help you with almost anything you ask of them. I'd definately recommend them, support local businesses for sure! Oh, they do accept debit / credit cards, always a plus!

Honestly, I don't…read morebelieve the 1st review, I have been in there twice, first time was to check a Rolex service that turned out to be the same price as Rolex...Ill go to Rolex thanks. The second was to get a spring bar and the owner just had the worst attitude towards me, refused to help unless I left my watch there. He couldn't even let me have a quick look at the millions of spring bars that he teased me with his arrogance. I don't think I have ever been into a business where the owner dangles what I want in my face and then refuses to help unless I leave my watch there.....makes you think what they want to do with my watch?? Anyway I will never walk in there in my life as it was a horrible experience and what irritates me the most is that I'm all for supporting independent businesses and not these high street guys but if they act like that I have no choice to go there.
