The surf shop located 112-118 Rundle Mall is clearly "one of the best" I've experienced so far. (Am I allowed to say that cliche phrase again?) I was there for quite a while for what felt like at least 45 minutes, the employee was amazingly helpful, very friendly, got my joke about how "that red dress you've chosen is not going to last very long on my imaginary girlfriend" and...dare I say, she was sexy-lookin'. Not only was she sexy, but the beach straw hat, sexy red dress, sunnies, and shoes that she picked out for me was definitely the best looking outfit chosen by a a shop assistant so far. Obviously coming back here to bring sexy back. Honeymoon holiday gift for my next girlfriend? This is the place for that. I wonder what other shop can top this?

Clothing, swim wear, shoes, boards, and bags. The staff are generally very helpful young whipper snappers. I don't shop here anymore, however I certainly used to. Surf shops were once my only outlet for fashion items, but my taste has since matured. But, if you feel like being a walking advertisement with the brand logo of your new t-shirt splashed across the fron of it, be my guest, it's one of the best places to go!

The front room is The Sandy Shack and the second through the centre doorway is She's My Baby, which has change rooms and sells maternity wear and some kids clothing...hmmm whatever. If you are redecorating a shack or creating a coastal theme in your home, then add a touch of beach inspired decor from The Sandy Shack. There are starfish ornaments, an interesting shell picture frame which has been strung together with twine, sea shells and other nautical items. It also supports local artists by stocking and offering for sale their various artistic endeavours such as photographs, decoupage art, ceramics, etc. There's also surf style jewellery, caps and lotions. They're in a good position for foot traffic, being next to The Deli and across from the Wheatsheaf. The store design is vintage glamour cabaret style, with red velvet curtains and chandeliers, and the clothes are in good condition with some decent labels to be found like Wheels and Doll Baby and Mink Pink. They also have a range of cool T-shirts the boys would be into. The prices were a little higher than I expected, I think this will be more of a high end vintage store than a bargain op shop. The store owner was super friendly and very chatty, she was web surfing for website design inspiration and shared some handy Moulin Rouge trivia with me while I browsed. Next time you're out West check them out.

This little store deals with fashion for men, women and children. You can find new pieces or older, I suppose you call them vintage, pieces. A lot of the clothing is actually really nice. I wish it fit my normal style. As it is, if I was seen wearing some of the stuff they sell people would wonder what happened to me. I'm more of a "smart casual" dresser. Maybe it's time for a change... As it is, there's a bit of everything here, and with a bit more digging around I'm sure even I could find something to walk away with. The Funkee Closet stocks kids clothing from newborn to sixteen, the sixteen was a recent addition as there was a cry for someone to stock at least some clothes for boys from 12 - 16 years of age. Poor boys always lose out in the fashion stakes, doesn't matter where you go it's either surf, skate or dork wear, not much option! And yes it's all designer wear from surfey Quicksilver, Mossimo to Soda Kids, Roxy and several in between...I didn't see OshKosh though but hey, can't have them all. And yes the prices are higher for name brands but some have the quality to last a long time and The Funkee Closet does have sales from time to time. On my visit there was twenty percent off but alas my stubborn child had no interest on this day, Xbox was calling at home and the sooner the better in his view. For sale also were hats, caps, some shoes, accesories, bags, etc. Driving past you can't miss it as it's hot pink exterior is loud and clear, inside are floor boards, lots of pink for the girly girls and a more subdued colour palate for boysey boy wear too, loved the two mandatory shop fitting black chiffon style hanging chandeliers. The staff were friendly and very helpful and with several customers they still managed to touch base with everyone. Great stuff girls!

While I like nice things, I also love a bargain and when this shop originally opened at Harbour Town, I was there in a flash. It's not that there are no bargains to be had but I was just completely let down by the stock on offer. I had hoped I would find a Country Road shop just like all the others and with all the same stock - but cheaper. It wasn't to be I'm afraid. Am I naïve? Sorry Harbour Town this shop may carry the Country Road name but its just not Country Road to me.

I was wrong, this store has NOTHING worth buying, and it's not much of a bargain either. It's almost like all the stock from the other stores that didn't sell came here to die and hopefully find a sympathetic buyer. Thumbs down and a scowl on my face.
