Service at the clubhouse and bag drop was excellent and friendly. I do wish that the carts had GPS, but other than that, they ran smoothly. Cart paths could use a little bit of work, but being an ocean course, I can understand why it's not a priority. Tidal flooding, rain, wind, salt air, etc can really do some damage to a course. I donated a few balls to the water hazards. Not a lot of woods to lose balls in, so that was good. Overall a really great day of golf with my dad.

If you are staying downtown it's only a 10 minute drive away and really only the course that's as close to downtown (aside from the muni). It's also a relatively open course and as someone that isn't the best golfer I do appreciate. Fees will vary but I'd only really play the course if it's $80-$90. During peak times you will see $130-$150 and would not recommend going at that rate

The 18 hole "Ralston Creek" is an exciting 18 hole regulation course, where you need to step up your game a notch, if not these 2 courses will cut you in half.. From the longest tees, the course plays to about 7,446 yards of golf for a par of 72, that my friends is about current U.S.OPEN length, with a lower slope rating though.course rating is 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The Nationwide tour still hosts an event here and truthfully, if there were the room for bleachers, concessions and transportation. With a few weeks work to narrow the fairways and toughen up the greens, I believe the PGA could host an event here, it is that good.The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 2006. The 18-hole "Beresford Creek" course at the Daniel Island Club features 7,093 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72 . This is the older of the two courses and opened around 2000.The course rating at Beresford Creek is 74.4 and it has a slope rating of 134, so it plays shorter, but no less difficult.

I love the golf course and have been saddened because of a torn rotator cuff, which thankfully is healing. I miss my time on the course with my buddies. Rich allows us 2 tee times every Thursday in the early afternoon at a steep discount and I cannot say enough about how much I appreciate him and all he and his staff do for us. The course is challenging and always in immaculate condition. It is my favorite in the entire area. I was finally getting used to it and figuring my game out when I was injured, so it looks like I'm going to have to do that all over again. And I'm looking forward to it. A bad day on the golf course beats a good day pretty much anywhere else. My only complaint is that they have no hot dogs on the traveling snack cart. There are times when eating a hot dog is the best part of my game. Ha! When finished with a round I always go into the club and sit at the bar. I order a cheeseburger off their menu rather than the ones they send out on the course. I've never been disappointed, they're always delicious and the staff is friendly even though I'm not a member. If you go out and play that course for the first time, please leave me a message and let me know what you think. We played Patriot's Point on Saturday and then arrived at Rivertowne for Sunday's round. When we checked in it turns out whomever took the reservation plugged us in on the wrong day. Rather than accommodating us somehow for their mistake we were told we could hang around in case anyone canceled. What pathetic customer service. Needless to say we've crossed off this course from our bucket list.

My sticking points are the continued slow play and no Marshall to manage it, waiting 10-15 minutes every hole to tee off is a bit much with a 5 hour plus round of golf not good. Then the second sticking point is letting the cart lady leave at 5 pm sucks our group was ready to drink and on a Saturday when the Marshall knows play is 45 minutes behind, we only got 1 drink and never saw her again! I have been fortunate enough to get invited to several events here since April. They all have been excellent events to attend. The Staff here at CCC are very courteous and professional. The service is always timely and coordinated perfectly. The food here is excellent for being a Club setting. I have sampled a wide variety of foods here from Chicken and Waffles, Shrimp and Grits, Steak, and various sides. Everything is cooked perfectly and delicious!! On the flip side the Golf here is challenging and very Scenic! Any time I get an invite to play golf I make sure to go it definitely is awesome!! All around the Country Club of Charleston is timeless perfection!!

Unfortunately, a visual for my play yesterday, would require you to go out into a cow pasture, where if you are carful not to step in one, I bet you might be able to find yourself a moist and steamy example of my play. Seriously, I played...really-really-really-really badly. Every now and again, the "yips" arise-- like angry spirits from the netherworld. In these moments, I find myself absolutely unable to make contact with the ball. Unbelievable, physics-defying slices appear, arm-shakingly painful karate-chop chunks that leave craters in the fairway become the norm (who am I kidding--I couldn't find a fairway if my life depended on it), and regarding putts.... my putts made me appear to be struggling with vertigo. The harder I tried, the deeper my crappy play went... and finding my way out of the darkness was not happening. Despite my "out-house product" golf game, I still thought the lay-out was fantastic. Additionally, the greens ran true and balls rolled at consistent and smooth speeds (at least they did for the other golfers in our wedding-attending group of 15 players). Finally, the staff here was consistently "pleasant". We interacted with the adorable bartender from Europe, the retired, but charming starter, and the trio of pro shop crew... and all were really engaging and made us feel very welcomed. I do hope to, one-day, return and play here again. It is my humble opinion that the Wild Dunes Golf Course has potential to be pretty close to golf at the apex of what the sport aspires to be (*I just need to do my part and play better).

They lie and tell members they can no longer use beachfront pools. Their food prices are $50 for average chicken, poor steaks are astronomical. Their guests are belligerent and hang towels from balconies, they host drunken meetings constantly putting kids in lobby in uncomfortable positions. There are flies and discarded food all over their Sweetgrass pool and beach pool. Attendants pass by ignoring attempts to order food and look disinterested. There is no pool clean up or pick up all day long! Not a resort just a bad motel vibe.
