I struggled with how I wanted to approach leaving this review. I wanted to wait for the tattoo to heal and for my anger to subsided a little. However, I'm permanently branded and I'm sick to my stomach over this. My dog passed away on July 28th, even though I knew it was coming I was still devistated. I had always planned on getting her paw print tattooed on me. Yesterday July 31st 2020 I had someone by the name of will do my pawprint. I was very specific in how I wanted this to look. I brought in my Maggie's paw print and asked if he could replicate it without harsh lines and to keep it light and shaded. I had her actual pawprint as well as a picture pulled up on my phone for reference the entire time. When he was done he barely cleaned off the excess ink and purple stencil. I thought that was strange because every other tattoo I've had the artist make sure to clean it up really well. I made a comment about it being dark and patchy. He stated that it would lighten up as it heals and to come back in for a touch up in a few weeks. After cleaning it and looking at it the next day it's obvious why he didn't wipe up the excess ink and stencil, because it was camouflaging how bad it really was. not only does this look nothing like the picture that I brought in for reference, but you can clearly see harsh lines, some of which go right through the shaded areas. The outside, or border if you will, goes from dots to straight harsh angled lines. Nothing is consistent or organic about this at all. The little imperfections and wisps of hair from her paw print look like random polka dots. Almost 100% of the tattoo is filled in. There's no negative space or area for skin to show through. The reason I got this tattoo was to help with the grieving process of losing my dog. Now I'm feeling anger and frustration that I have a tattoo that looks like it was done by a 7th grader with a safety pin. It's going to cost me hundreds of dollars to have this removed professionally. There's no touch-up or cover-up that is going to make this look the way it was supposed to look. I was told by the doctor I have to let it heal for 8 weeks before they can start the process of removing it. With that being said it's not even about the money, or the facts that it's going to take me a long time to have this removed. It's about the fact that for whatever reason the time and care that should go into a memorial tattoo like this didn't. This tattoo was very important to me. It was a way for me to heal, and now it's just another bad tattoo story that I'm going to have to explain to a lot of people. read more

This is the best place in Racine to get body modifications done. The staff is super friendly, the place is spotlessly clean, and they are all very talented - especially my artist, Adrian. If you go in for a piercing, they'll tell you whether its feasible or not for your particular body. They won't just pierce you and take your money if they know the piercing will not work out. I will only get pierced by Jonathan!! He's really nice, gentle, honest, and will be up front if he doesn't think a particular piercing will work out. Especially with surface piercings. Instead of just sticking a needle in you and collecting the money, he'll give you his professional opinion so you can then decide if you still want to get a particular piercing done. I had been thinking about getting my tongue pierced for about 3 years, but I always chickened out. I worried about all the things that could possibly go wrong and I talked myself out of it every time. Recently, I went to i ov thee dragon and found Jonathan between appointments and he let me ask about 15 neurotic, whiny, scaredy-cat questions and not once did he look even the mildest bit annoyed, impatient, or put out by the exercise. He calmly, competently, thoroughly, and politely addressed each and every one of my concerns, never minimizing the actual risks. It was so clear he was most interested in educating me and helping me make the best choice, even if that choice was that I not get pierced at all. His demeanor, the fact that he had obviously done the procedure thousands of times, and his quiet confidence compelled me to trust him. Prior to the piercing, he made absolutely certain I understood the aftercare instructions and the consequences of not following them appropriately. He recommended aftercare products that were conveniently available at his shop, as well as others that could be purchased elsewhere. I got my tongue pierced and was absolutely amazed that the procedure went down exactly as he had described it, step-by-step, no surprises. It was quick, almost completely painless, and I was stunned by how simple he made such a complex and potentially dangerous piercing appear. It's only been a week since my piercing and my healing is going exactly as he predicted, down to the physical descriptions he gave me of the swelling, potential on and off bleeding, and the slight release of a white substance that is not pus and may look alarming, but is quite normal and natural. I intend to follow his directions for the duration of the healing period, including to expect the process to take anywhere from 3-6 weeks.
