It just so happens that this bar is located on a beautiful secluded part of the river, and there's no better place to take your clothes off and have a mojito than on a beach. Ladies: this is not a place to feel bashful, but you'd certainly need to feel comfortable topless in front of a bunch of grandpas who stumble over from their moldy boats in the marina next door. Beyond that its a damn fine place to get a tan like i did! Fellas: this isnt the place to pick up chicks, seriously, dont push your luck otherwise you might find your face in the sand like some obnoxious Brit i saw. 28 Grad is an awesome beach club - the best in Hamburg…read more Seriously, if the weather is good in Hamburg, it's worth jumping on the S1 train to Wedel. Once you arrive there, you still have a 10 minute walk down to the beach. The other way to get here - my preferred way - is to cycle alongside the Elbe. Close to Wedel you're forced inland to make your way around some huge ugly industrial complex, but don't be dissuaded - you can't see anything of it from the beach. Once you finally arrive you'll find a lovely little beach club that's situated at one end of one of the nicest beaches in Hamburg. If the tide is in, the beach can be a little narrow, but the bay is very shallow, which makes it great for children for paddling and swimming. Also, if the tide is out the beach quickly becomes rather large, flat and perfect for a game of beach cricket or football. As with all beach clubs the prices are somewhat inflated and you should expect to pay a EUR1 deposit on any glass or bottle. This is the best beach bar in Hamburg though :)

They were also really helpful in explaining the menu and how you can get a chug (smaller size) if you don't want the full serving. We wanted to try everything. Our main comment and unfortunately it affected our experience a lot is that smoking is allowed inside. This is not uncommon for bars in this country but they could have provided a pleasant experience for everyone and not just some by not allowing smoking inside. We smelled like smoke and our drinks came with a side of ill health. Other than that, we loved this bar and maybe it won't be raining next time so we can sit outside (where people still smoke but the smoke has somewhere to go).

I stayed in Hamburg for 2 nights and…read more...ended up there twice :D In the speakeasy style, you'll find amazing tequila-based cocktails made by the blond girl who's probably one of the best bartender I met so far. Genuine atmosphere, a bit dark, just what's needed, with cool music and people. I tried their special menu which basically is a 6-course cocktail tasting (no worries, they all come into the "Chug" size glass;)) through which you'll discover their signature recipes. Pretty cool stuff, I recommend it for sure. Prices are very ok and staff is super friendly! I loved it and will go back next time I'm in the city !

Queue is situated in a huge, and very depressing-looking UCI cinema complex. Upon walking through to main door the complex looks like something built in the late 80s which has slowly been declining ever since. Half the spaces are empty. The decor is terrible. The whole place reeks of chav. Upon walking into Queue, there were three immediately obvious things: 1) There were many little pool tables, all a bit too close together - perhaps 30 of them 2) Only two tables were being used 3) There were 50 screaming kids in one corner playing air hockey One thing that only became clear after we'd been there for 10 minutes was that it was almost unbearably hot. Maybe 30C. (It was only 15C outside). One of the main reasons we went was because of the EUR5 per day price, however that's only Sunday to Thursday apparently. We had to pay EUR9.90 per hour because we were stupid enough to go on a Saturday. So lets summarise: - screaming kids - expensive - too hot - middle of no-where location - tables too close together I'm going to give them one extra star for the cues being a decent quality and the table that we played on was level.
