Pre-order is nice option but they overcharged for their comics like no other. I have not seen a comic book store charge so much for a comic that should be four dollars. They are charging upwards of 25 $50 insanely overpriced would not recommend solely based upon that, and also they close at 6:30 when a lot of people get off at five they really don't have the time to make it. They need us keep their hours extended. I showed up to pick my order and they told me that somebody had canceled my order. So I take it back the pre-order feature of this store is not even nice. So this place was an interesting excursion on a Saturday. By that I mean, not great. I went in looking for Silver/Bronze age comics and was asked if I needed help by someone I'm assuming either owns or runs the store as he was more interested in getting back to a game of Magic the gathering than he was in selling me comics. His response was that they held live sales online for those types of books. Ok..... do you sell in store too? Thats like walking into a restaurant and them telling you they only sell your favorite pizzas over the phone via delivery. Is that a way to conduct business? Towards the end I about gave up until I saw a nice copy of Marvel Super Heroes 18 ( first GOTG). I bought it right there as the price was right (hence the second star was given in this review). In case the owner/manager is reading this. I walked in with over 1k cash. Oh well, onto the next comic shop. read more

By far my favorite comic book store I've been to. Great selection and very helpful with Magic the Gathering as well. I usually get all my mtg cards, sleeves and boosters from them. What can I say I love comics and have so since I was a child. My most beautiful early memories where of going through the comics in the 70's at the local drugstore and figuring out the 1 or 2 that I could buy on my allowance for the week. I Want More Comics is a quality comic book store with many choices from the novice to the serious collector. I specifically look for Silver Age Comics when I check into a place and thy were slim on the specific comic books that I like but they did have a fairly good collection of other books. I asked the front desk guy a few questions about their collections and he seemed very knowledgeable so overall I had a great experience at this store. read more

Clerk is dismissive and avoids eye contact. They re-price books at the register, even though there already are price tags on the comic -their stock is sorted alphabetically, and even though the store can go walk up to their own stock to find "hot books" they wait for the customer to do their inventory for them, then the store re-prices the customer's books at the register. Wow. Why are there no signs throughout the store posting about this re-pricing of "hot books" at the register, nothing by the store boxes. The shelving units do not feel safe in their slide-out box-shelves stacked on top of each other, as if they are ready to fall out, which are cumbersome for sifting through comic books. I recommend avoiding this shop, as the service was also dismissive, very plain and they avoid eye contact. This is not a welcoming place to visit. read more

I happen to be in Denver so I checked this shop out. The dudes running the shop were very willing to help, but I was just browsing. For the most part, their prices seem to be decent, either right below eBay or on par with it. I didn't notice any super deals. I watched some lady try to sell an old collection to them and the dude behind the counter bust out the overstreet guide and after sifting through her collection, offer her about $20. I think the lady was shocked. Reminds me of when I sold my collection out of desperation back in the day. They have a vast backissue collection, sorted by publisher. Hey also have a whole section dedicated to variants. Very nice selection, I wish I would have had more time to dig. Make sure you have enough when you go. Like I said, decent comic shop, nice guys, prices could be a little lower on specific back issues - do the customer a favor since you're bypassing Ebay. read more

Wanted to sell our comic book collection. Called several comic book stores in Colorado. This store was very helpful and straight forward over the phone. Told me to bring in the collection, and they would look it over and make an offer. Store was very clean and neat. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I met Keith, who went through our entire collection. I enjoyed my interaction with him. He made me feel comfortable and didn't talk down to me, even though I know very little about the comic book world. He obviously has a true passion and knowledge about comic books. He pulled our valuable comics. He compared pricing in the Comic Book Price Guide and eBay. He showed me what he could sell those comics for in his store and offered me 50% on them. The rest of our collection he offered to purchase in bulk. He then totaled his offer for everything. AND, he went one step further, explaining how I could sell the valuable comics myself on eBay or Craigslist, with the pros and cons about doing that. As I had done research on the value of our comics before going in, I was quite pleased with Keith's offer. He was trustworthy and honest. I sold all of our comics to him. I pulled a comic out of the back issues that was marked $3. I took it to the register where a store manager asked me to wait so he could look up "the current price." They told me the comic was ACTUALLY $10 and I left. This shop is dishonest and too scared to post this policy in their store. Don't do their work for them. Shop elsewhere, there are plenty of shops in the Denver area to put up with this garbage. read more

I'll start by saying I've been reading comics for most of my 38 years of life. Comic book shops are among my favorite places to be. I've been to comic shops all across the country (I used to travel 2 weeks a month across the US for about 4 years for a job). It's no exaggeration to say that I Want More Comics is one of the best shops I've ever been to. When I purchase brand new books I'm a stickler when it comes to minty freshness. Most comic shops have plastic dividers/bins that are wall mounted or situated on a shelf. These are the worst as people who are looking through them can damage the books by pulling them forward. IWMC does not have this problem whatsoever. The way they display their books is how every shop should. The books are safe. The best part about IWMC isn't the fact that all the books are reasonably priced and that the selection is fantastic (those are also great if you just want a review about prices and stock)--no, the best part of this store is its staff. I am a regular at this shop for a good reason. When I first started going to the shop, I was impressed with the enthusiasm and attention to detail by everyone who works there. I was also impressed with how friendly and accommodating everyone was--they don't make you feel like you're inferior if you ask questions. So while now I feel like I get to visit friends a few times a week when I visit, my review is based on first impression and overall kindness and knowledge put together for a customer who won't know the employees like a regular would. I frequent a few other local comic stores and the staff there is friendly too but they go the extra mile at IWMC. A fantastic example is when Naomi #5 came from DC comics with a printing error--the inside of the book had creased pages. They let their customers know that they were damaged and had a plan to replace them, which they did. My girlfriend and I wondered if it was isolated to IWMC and out of curiosity, tried some other shops. We found that their copies were also damaged and the owners didn't care whatsoever with one even saying basically "oh well, it happens." So for IWMC to tell their customers the books were damaged and then go above and beyond with a replacement program is something that goes a very long way in terms of customer service. Even after going to the shop only a few times, the staff remembered my girlfriend and I by name, which is impressive considering the traffic that comes in and out of that place. IWMC is more than just a comic shop. IWMC is a community. They do fun things like live stream sales on Facebook where even on there, you get to know other customers and their tastes. My girlfriend will sometimes comment "it's too bad so and so isn't on tonight. That's totally their kind of book!" You can also buy toys, video games, statues/collectibles, magic the gathering, board games, card supplies, single cards, dice, manga, trade paperbacks. They also buy the same stuff they sell. One thing you have to keep in mind is that this is a store, not a guy off the street. You need to expect less than what it's worth as they need to sell it to make a profit. I've taken comics here in the past when they were at their previous location and decided not to take what was offered. It's that simple. There are no hard feelings on either side, that's business. I mention this because I've seen so many reviews for establishments such as this where not being offered what they were asking is a negative rating, which isn't fair. No one forces anyone to accept offers--this is a business that needs to profit. I've sold many funko pops to IWMC for less than what they're worth for store credit completely understanding how selling to a shop results in less than what I could sell John Smith off the street and I couldn't be happier with my choice! My girlfriend and I are planning to move to the other side of the city next year but we both decided that IWMC is going to be our home no matter where in Colorado we move--it's worth the weekly trip. read more

Amazing place! I just moved to Denver from California and I was really missing my old place. As most comic fans know, you always have "your" shop: the one you go to each week, the one where you have a box for your pulls and the place where you can talk comics with the guys who work there and they don't mind a bit! Well, I'm delighted to say that I now have a shop again. Everyone here is nice, helpful and they really know their stuff! I can't even begin to say how great Keith is and how he's gone out of his way to find me the comics I want (collectible or otherwise) and has even given me great recommendations of his own. Great store. I'm a magic player and they have one of the best magic counters in the state. They are even at the point of making it all run on iPads which is kinda cool. I'm not really a comic book guy but they have allot of that stuff too. Overall it's a great place to pick up a few cards to finish off building a deck. Card prices are great if your going to sell stuff to a store this is the one for you. They also helped me build a deck and suggested a few cards that actually was less expensive then the ones I was trying to buy (Just make sure it's the comic book store and not the gaming store next to it. First impressions aren't always what they seem- I used to live quite literally down the street from this store and didn't even know this place existed until friends and friends of friends literally smacked me upside the head and asked me why I go so far out of my way to get my weekly pulls. It's hard not to be a creature of habit! For the past few years I would stop in maybe once a month? Twice? It also seemed I had a split between my friends that swear by this place and my friends that swear about this place. Not the makings of the best review so far, eh? Well this past Saturday was a national event called FREE COMIC BOOK DAY and I was invited along with my local artist group to participate in the festivities. We had a big row of tables lining both sides of their back room, plenty of space to set up and display our wares. I made it a goal to do as many free sketches for kids as I could handle and I managed to crank out over 50 pieces from 10am until almost 4pm! I mention all this for a reason! You see, beyond them being a great host to us (they bought us food!) and it being an ultimately successful event for the group and myself, the biggest thing I took away from the experience is just how capable the staff is with their store. I didn't get a headcount, but there was a healthy sized line out the door when I arrived and the volume of people inside didn't show signs of dwindling until late afternoon if not even later. A lot can be gleaned from observing people in this environment. Sufficed to say I was impressed. There was someone at the door to great you, there was staff on the floor assisting people and fielding questions, a few more behind the counter taking turns checking people out and grabbing the inaccessible merch behind them and even someone coming into the back room to make sure we were doing okay (did i mention the free food?). For the few times I was able to leave my table for a quick break, these observations really stuck out to me. Like a well oiled chaos engine that would push anyone's patience to the breaking point- they really shined in front of all of us. In a word? Professional. Thank you, I Want More Comics. I visited this shop last year, Spring 2014, while on a business trip to Denver. I came out with an Adam Hughes Batgirl statue and an Absolute Promethea. I'd been looking for both and was happy to find them on the shelves. This 2015 Spring had me back in the Denver area and I had to go again. No epic find this year but I was happy to spend time in the shop looking at the huge inventory. Located in a slightly deserted strip mall, don't let that influence you -- this comic shop is an oasis. Huge floor square footage. Huge selection of current and recent comic. Nice back issue selection. Shelves of trades and hardcovers. Statues. Great comic book posters. What more could a comic lover want. I don't know anything about gaming, but they have a large room for gamers to hang. No big purchases for me this year but I'm happy with my score -- Marvel Treasury Edition 4 at a very friendly price. read more

I have been shopping with these guys since gosh I can't remember. This store always has what I'm looking for if they don't they help me find it. Gambling with eBay or Amazon is stupid. I like shopping locally if they have something I want I buy it and their prices are fair. I like the way they treat me. Being a female who collects comics is really annoying when fan boys are gross and rude. These guys don't do that while other stores have. Very nice store to say the least. Not your typical dingy comic store. Very well lit, organized and with a good selection of products too, not just comics. The staff are genuinely kind and helpful without bombarding you with salesmen tactics. It's just a shame there in a failing shopping center with more empty lots than occupied spaces.
