However, it's where my Grandad's ashes are as well as a few other family members and people I've known who've gone upstairs. When my Grandad's ashes were scattered in a quiet corner back in 1996 they overlooked some fields. Nowadays, he's near to a fence the other side of which runs the M6 toll road! Lovely eh? At least they built a wooden fence to block it out. Hopefully you never have to visit there but if you do, the chapel is small and sombre whilst the grounds are generally quiet, secluded, (obviously) very floral and well looked after. One little bit of trivia for you though: The ashes of Arthur Lowe (who played Mainwaring in Dad's Army) are scattered somewhere in there. Despite never living round here he died whilst appearing in a play in Birmingham in 1982 and was cremated here. PS. It deserves more than 3 stars, but I can't bring myself to say "Yay! I'm a fan!" about such a place.

He helped by listening to what we wanted and by advising every step of the way. I cannot fault the company for any part of their service. I cannot say enough good things about them, I would recommend to anyone who had to deal with that unfortunate circumstance. It was the first time I had got to do anything like that and the people around you can make a difference and Allens certainly helped me deal with my loss and the events the followed that I had to organise. If I should ever find myself needing to use the services of a funeral director in the future I would never use anyone else.

This cemetery has provided me with some much needed moments of solitude and reflection over the…read moreyears. It the main it is a very quiet place as lots of the graves are extremely old. It is a large site and you can easily pass an hour wandering around. I don't find it morbid spending time in graveyards, for some reason I find it very peaceful. I have personal connections to the space and like to visit from time to time to remember lost loved ones. However, a visit doesn't have to have this purpose to be enjoyable.

It's a beautiful setting, and of course very peaceful as you would expect! There's an array of interesting head stones if you're into that kind of thing but otherwise it is a stunning capsule of serenity all in its own right; with gnarly old trees and other flora to enjoy. The changing seasons mean this is a great place to visit throughout the year.

It's a trip down memory lane as I learnt to drive (again - passed my test when I was 17, then didn't drive again for over 10 years..) here. Well, re-acquainted myself with driving, then, shall we say. Which kind of gives you an idea as to the size of this place - it's massive. There's plenty of space for pathways and driveways. With a 5 mph speed limit, I hasten to add. It's divided into a number of plots, and there are acres and acres of grass. It's a lovely place though. I know its full of dead people, but it's like acres of quiet parkland, with plots of ornamental gravestones and flowers here and there. I think I'd quite like to be buried here - it's really peaceful and ordered.

Paula was my first contact with the company who at once made me feel comfortable and at ease. She in turn introduced me to her colleague Chris, both of which were so supportive and helpful in this dreadful of times. Not only help scheduling the date and time of the funeral but also for organising the minister, the crematorium and organist, the vehicles/drivers, flowers and charity donations plus all my own specific requirements. These things were done with their constant support and reassurance while I was trying to deal with the loss of my Mother. Nothing was ever too much trouble.
